Charritos Restaurant

They have a fully vegan place and a place that serves meet 4 blocks away from this. If the waiter had told us that, we wouldn't have ordered here. Had a good experience with the food. Vegan cheese is a very interesting concept. They have managed to deliver wonderfully on the vegan dishes. Would love to see some more options though and more veggies in their offerings. The ambience is really great and a must visit on a bright sunny day to soak up the colors.

Have been searching for a good vegetarian/vegan friendly Mexican place in Jersey City for quiet some time. Recently visited this spot with a group of friends. The spot has a very home like vibe which makes you feel pretty cozy. However, the place is pretty small and not ideal for big groups bigger than 6-8. The food was great, served in clay dishes hinting the Mexican setting. They have an entire section of the menu dedicated for Vegetarian/Vegan food with real nice tasting dishes. The service too was great but they could improve a bit while taking orders. Must tries are Veggie Quesadilla, El Pastor Mushroom Tacos, Chips n Salsa

Great vegan and vegetarian Mexican food in a colourful environment. My daughter, who is a vegan, was bowled over to see a Mexican restaurant with so much choice for the vegan, and for me, unusually, I didn't miss meat. We had the Guacamole (and contrary to what someone said in another review it was made at the table, and was lovely), the Burritos and the Alambres (vegetarian, not vegan). The home made vegan almond cheese with the Burritos was very nice. Very friendly and attentive service.

Avoid this place. I'm a vegetarian and love veggies, but this place was extraordinarily disappointing. The service was excellent and we had a great seating place, but three ended the good story. We had the guac and chips. The guac was only ok and the chips were bad. My wife and I had the burritos and the pablabos dishes. Very ordinary to bad. Don't know what they did to them but they were totally listless to actually tasting bad. We had the almond desert, which was equally bad. In short, the charritos is Weehawken is simply terrific and this veggie one in Hoboken is the one to avoid !!!
