This is the best restaurant in the region by far! The menu changes weekly and is always fresh and delicious. Sunset views of the waterfall off lake George and friendly staff make this a memorable spot for dining.
Food is well presented and tastes even better. Atmosphere is very comfortable and service is top notch. Enjoyed are visit this weekend and looking forward to our next visit already.

A gem in our region. Friends, family, and I have been to 54 Main Bistro several times, and we have never been disappointed with the food or the service. The owners are warm and welcoming and go out of their way to make sure their patrons are satisfied. Additionally, on occasion, the chef has visited our table and asked for our input.
Yes, the restaurant is small, which adds to the quaint, comfortable ambiance. This may mean not everyone can be seated exactly where they wish, reservations or not. Furthermore, there isn't a "private area" for large parties.
It's important to support our local businesses so our community can continue to thrive. I believe 54 Main Bistro is one of the finest establishments in not just our region, but in Chicagoland in general. I hope the staff enjoys success for many years to come.
Amazing!. I hate to even write this review because I enjoy having this gastronomic haven for myself! I have never ever been disappointed with any of the food or the staff. The atmosphere is clean, uncluttered and cozy. The family that owns and operates this restaurant are very warm and friendly. Very pleasant. This wouldn't mean a hill of beans if the food wasn't FANTASTIC. I am very particular and can usually find something wrong but not with this inventive, fresh cuisine. I've been here multiple times but have only invited guests twice because I prefer to give my attention to the exciting dishes. Also, I find this place very relaxing. I treat myself to this restaurant once a month. Well worth every cent.
My husband & myself have been here atleast 6x as well, each time different of course since menu changes each week! We love it here especially since they put the bar in up front for before or after dinner drinks! We drive in excess of 20 miles to get there but worth it! Best in nw indiana!. Read reviews, for those of you who have dined there 6 times and were angry about being seated by a large party of diners! Your review does not matter! The fact that you went back 6 times spurred my interest, which was more than a GREAT Dining experience! The place is Jaw dropping AWSOME, menu is different every week and they make everything fresh to order! Not for the "early bird" crowd who dont want to have a full blown foodie smack down! I give this place 2 thumbs up and 1 finger to the diner who dosnt know a good thing.......
Food and Wine. Food is super. But need to expand wine list to include a few moderately priced red and white wines.
54 main bistro. This is by far an answer to my dining prayers. Hobart now has a fine dining atmosphere. Along with having amazing food comes a great scenery and down to earth staff. One of my favorite dishes would have to be the Island monk fish, which was coconut encrusted and it came with pork belly fried rice and a honey cilantro glaze. I have never seen such creativity come out of Hobart Indiana. Check it out! It is impossible to be let down here. Everything from the drinks to desserts is out of sight!

The Bistro is a waterfront, Victorian Cottage we turned into a Bistro Open Thur. & Fri. 11-2 & 5-9 Sat. 5-9 Reservations are advised especially for outdoor waterfront seating.

Quaint spot in Hobart for a delicious meal. The staff was friendly. The menu changes every week. The drinks are professionally poured. The meals are deli! We had the pork picatta special which was tender and wonderful. Relaxing ambiance. We didn’t want to leave so we had dessert. Yum!
Lovely ambience, really enjoyed the perch. DH's meatballs were great as well. This is a gem on the lakefront. Highly recommended.

Atmosphere was wonderful, dim and peaceful lighting, beautiful artwork, and phenomenal food. We ordered several things off the menu (and I'm a picky eater) and we enjoyed it all. Service was excellent, and staff was very friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
A small but great spot. The food is fabulous. The setting overlooking the water is beautiful. Who expects this caliber of food in the middle of Hobart?
My wife and I found this place a few years ago when picking apples at a nearby orchard. We fell in love. It is now our annual tradition to pick apples and go to 54 Main for dinner. Each year we seem to bring more friends so we can share the experience. It is just that good!
The food has always been amazing. The menu switches often to reflect the use of local and seasonable items.
Quaint restaurant with a great view of lake George. Parking could be a little better but that's a small issue compared to the overall dining experience. They have limited options however change the menu weekly. I ordered the cucumber martini, French onion soup and filet mignon. All delicious. Our waitress was wonderful and funny. Would definitely recommend.
I love to dine and I have to say that in my Opinion that this place is by far above and beyond the best restaurant in Northwest Indiana. I love my filet and they have perfect the art of cooking it. it definitely does not stop there. All of their food is fantastic. Most of which is local fresh and organic which is even better. Service is on point and the owner is passionate. I absolutely love this place.
This place is a jewel in northwest indiana and the folks who run it are really nice people. The chef uses high quality locally sourced foods. They always have friendly service and a quiet, cozy atmosphere. I've never taken a friend here who didn't love it and come back on their own. We like this place so much we had our wedding reception here.
