Best Thai Food, that I’ve had in a while. The Thai Basil was so good that it didn’t even last 5 minutes on the table. Highly recommend you come here while visiting Hilton Head Island. The spice levels were perfect and everything was extremely fresh tasting. Quick Service as well and friendly staff.
First time dinning here last night. I ordered the Thai fried rice. My husband ordered the Yellow Curry with Pork. Both amazing and tasty. I was going to order something more spicy but im pregnant and playing it safe with spicy good. Anyways both delicious meals. Service was great.
We also had spring rolls as appetizers. Very crunchy and tasty.
Next time we would like to try the Drunken Noodles.
In a nice way, this environment is deceiving. The outside architecture of the structure and the unused drive thru portion give it the appearance of an old fast food restaurant. But, once inside, the place is stunning and not at all what I expected. They've done an excellent job with the decorations and ambiance, giving the establishment a more sophisticated air. Good thing the similar attention to care for design carried over to their cuisine since both my wife and I agreed that it was some of the best food, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We highly suggest this establishment!
We always eat here when visiting Hilton Head Island. Excellent, authentic Thai food. Always great service. The decor is greatly improved over our previous visit five years ago.
I had red curry with chicken. My wife had a huge bowl of Tom Yum soup. Both very good.
Csution: Food is spicy. Choose a lower spice level than you normally would.
For dessert I had lychee fruit on ice, and my wife had mango ice cream.
Really enjoyed our experience here. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Service was fantastic. The price for non-alcoholic drinks was a little expensive.

First trip to Hilton Head and saw they were within walking distance and had good reviews. Made a reservation. They couldn't find it but when I showed that I did call the right number they accommodated us. Cute remodeling for dining area! Service was very good and very friendly I ordered the crispy duck and hubby got the three kings seafood meal. Beautiful presentation, delicious flavor.
I had the salad roll with shrimp and drunken noodles with beef and squid. I had to use so much self control to stop when I got too full because it was just SO delicious, I wanted to keep eating. The beef was tender, squid was cooked perfectly, veggies were fresh and crisp. The staff was all very friendly.
Very delicious food and decent environment. The waitress is super nice, too. My child ordered the Thai noodle soup but she ended up finishing the drunken noodle (mild, not too spicy). We love all the four dishes. Each entree comes with an option of spring roll or soup. Highly recommend the spring roll. The soup is good if you like very salty and sour soup.
Ruan is good Thai food. We ordered spring rolls, Salad Rolls (summer rolls), Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, and Massamun Curry. All the flavors were good and portions were reasonable. We ordered take out. The phone was answered promptly and when a asked for tofu I was asked if egg was ok which I appreciated. We were given a 45 minute pickup window and our food was ready when we arrive.
The dining room was decorated nicely for a convert popeyes. Extra points for repurposing a building instead of doing a tear down.

We have been dining at Ruan Thai for many years as we would vacation here on Hilton Head several times a year. In June 2022 my family finally moved here permanently and after a busy summer we made the time to get out to the new location on 278 between Palmetto Dunes and Shipyard. Our son use to frequent that location before Ruan Thai moved in, and I can say that we were all pleasantly surprised! It offers a great atmosphere, comfy surroundings, great decor, the acoustics were good, lighting was just about right. The server we had was very nice and attentive. I went with my wife and teenage daughters for my birthday. My wife and i had a nice red wine, the girls had Sprites.
They had a decent variety on the drink menu with moderate prices. We ordered the Spring Rolls and the Satay (Chicken). The apps were very fresh and good and did not last long! Gone before I could snap a photo. I did take a photo of the 3 entree's we shared. We had the Pa Nang Curry Chicken, Holy Basil Chicken, and the Thai Fried Rice. All three were so flavorful and tasty and nothing was left on the plate. We always love the presentation at Ruan Thai, such decorative plating, it looks like a work of art! Photos tell the story. We can't wait to go back! Thanks for the flavor!
