I am so happy that ocean sushi has been able to stay open! The takeout service is efficient, and the safety practices to prevent virus transmission are well established. I highly recommend that you call in your order rather than walk up place it and wait for it cuz that will reduce your exposure to other people. But if you can't call it in go put your order in and it's really fast. Aloha

This was one of my favorite restaurants in Hilo. They have the best California roll and I've not found a better one on the mainland or Japan yet.

Decent food and reasonable price. The Udon had a lot of noodles and stuff, broth had hot temperature.

Good sushi and nigiri, didn't try sashimi. Price for rolls decent. Nigiri prices good. Tempura platter overpriced.

Good food. Quite busy which resulted in along wait for food. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Making sushi takes time so if you don't mind a wait when they are busy eat there. If you are in a hurry check the number of patrons before you sit down.

Decided to give them another try. This time it was better than my last experience. I like that we can bring our own alcohol beverages. The waitress serving us was nice & friendly. The place was clean & I enjoyed my shrimp tempura & teriyaki chicken plate. It was super delicious. 😁

Very good food and great service. We ate here for our anniversary. Best sushi I have had. Next time we visit the Big Island we will come back.

If you want to eat and a real hand crafted, fresh sushi kind of place this is where you go. Huge variety. Good tasting food. It's not only sushi there too, they have Japanese style plates for people who aren't really fish eaters.
