Stopped here for a quick bite to eat after the farmers market. Found through simple google search. The place itself is pretty unassuming and plain looking with very basic furniture. The food however was very very good. The poke bowl is incredible. The pineapple steak dish was very good albeit a bit on the cold side for my taste. The calamari was also very good, loved the Panko crumbs. Would highly recommend and would go again.

Great restaurant. A whole separate menu for dietary restrictions - gluten-free and vegan, and a kids menu. The pineapple drink was super super good - also super necessary because the kabocha red curry was really spicy, even for someone who can handle some spice. The dynamite fish bowl was the agreed to be the best dish we ordered. Service was great too, and live music!

I had an early dinner here with five people yesterday. We showed up and were seated immediately. Every single staff member greeted us with a smile and was pleasant. The food was decent and served quickly. I had the pineapple burger and it was tasty, even if it was a little messy. Sandy took great care of us and the excellent service made the whole thing 5 stars. Very delightful spot in Hilo with an amazing positive vibe in the air. Gentle breeze and soft music and beautiful chatter of people having a great time. Food is incredible, and very decorative. The drinks were fantastic with an artistic twist. Beautiful place in downtown to visit. Not just a tourist attraction. Mahalo Pineapples!!!🤙🏽

Beautiful Hawaiian open air cafe.. food was amazing, service impeccable and drinks were delicious. Don't skip dessert! We spent a lot but that included drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. Prices were quite reasonable.

Was not expecting much although we had seen a line every time we walked by this place. There was live music playing and the food blew us away. My wife got a Cobb salad with fresh fish and I ordered the fish and chips with furikake. The fish turned out to be fresh swordfish. I do not make this claim lightly: hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had. Absolutely delicious from the first bite. Still craving these a week later

First time to Hilo, and to Pineapples Island Fresh. What a great atmosphere and food! They did have a separate Gluten Free "friendly" menu so yay for me. We arrived for Sunday evening dinner and it was packed the whole time. Definitely recommend!!

We made it in time for Happy Hour, 3 pm to 5 pm. It was half off drinks and some food items. We tried the coconut shrimp, pork sliders, fish tacos, onion rings and Mai Tai. Everything was good but lacked the spark to make it awesome.

The food was really good here when we went. Definitely get the Hilo Plate if you don’t know what to try. It has a great variety of food on it. The pulled pork and mango slaw was my favorite. My wife got fish and chips. They were a little dry but the fish was super fresh and tasted great. We were told we may need a reservation weeks in advance but we were able to walk right up. I believe we did go in the off-season (late August), so it may have been just less busy when we were there. Just be aware, maybe call or do a reservation in advance especially if it’s a big party if you are concerned. We both got drinks and they were decent. The ginger lemon drop cocktail was a bit spicier than I anticipated so if you like a drink to burn your insides this is the one. The Kalapana Sweet Tea was a well rounded cocktail, would recommend that one. Overall I would gladly recommend this place. They have a lot of other really neat dishes and the quality and presentation of there food is 10/10.

What a wonderful, all-around, experience. The restaurant is open and lively. The food is fresh and flavorful. I loved that everything we ordered had fresh coleslaw (not pre-packaged or full of mayonnaise). The server was thorough and attentive. The menu is creative. They do not take reservations but my fiancé and I went for lunch and waited only 15 minutes after we were told it would be closer to 30. They have amazing margarita flights with various flavors to choose from. The prices are affordable. We will definitely come back the next time we're in the area.
