Amazing food. We were staying next door at the Best Western and were so happy to have an awesome restaurant next door. We had the honey bourbon wings and prime rib and our kiddos had a cheeseburger kids meal. Everything was top notch, I’ve never had a smoked prime rib before, it’s was incredible! And the wings were huge and amazing and my kids loved their meals as well. Very nice fun atmosphere as well and great service from the staff.

The food was excellent, every item we ordered was great. From kids meal, burger sandwich and smoked meat, it was great!
Jessika our waitress was top level, professional and friendly. The decoration and ambiance of this old barn is great. The wait was just 20/25 minutes for a party of 6 in summertime. You can wait at the bar, on the patio and even in the attic of the barn which was pretty cool.
Prices were good, not cheap but not expensive either and definitely a good value for the experience.
Definitely a great spot if you want to eat in Hill City.
fabulous service, thanks Tasha, and a nice visit with the owner, Ryan, after one of the best meals we have had out in a very long time! The smoked prime rib was to die for as well as the Green Chile Mac-n-Cheese and salmon. Also couldn’t leave without having a piece of the over the top turtle chocolate cheesecake topped with candied bacon. Seriously, outstanding food!! Can’t wait for out next trip back out to the area now that we found this place!

Walked in today and was greeted with a warm smile, seated and introduced to Elizabeth our fun waitress she started off with drinks and prime rib Chili that was so good the pallet screamed for more. I did tell the staff and cook that the cook needs too go to jail for making a great meal.
We ordered the cheeseburgers both had pepper jack cheese, since covit lot of places cut down on size and quality of the hamdburger but Mr Ryan did everyone right by bigger and better.
Last but not forgotten the dessert NY cheese cake with mix berry compote that was freshly made with cream.
Next time I plan on going back for the prime ribs. Please stop in when passing through Hill City South Dakota.
We decided to try Chute Rooster partially because of it's closeness to our hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly. My husband decided to try the Mile of Hell wing challenge...we've been married almost 24 years and known each other for 27. Never once had I seen him find something that was too hot to handle. He loves spicy food. He knew he was in trouble when they delivered the wings wearing latex gloves...with a pair for him to wear while eating them. He only managed 3 before giving up. All of the staff were very helpful, offering milk, coffee, celery...anything that might put out the fire. He had a miserable night and a rough day and will probably never try something like that again. So fair warning...the wings are not an easy challenge! (He did say that they had a good flavor...just the heat was unreal.)
The rest of our meal was very enjoyable!
My wife and I decided to stop here for dinner with her grandparents after hearing from a family friend that they had really improved their food. I have to say the food here is really good and the service was amazing. The only thing I would suggest is they serve some sort of sauce such as green chili enchilada sauce with their Green chili Philly. If you are in Hill City stop by here and grab a drink or some good food.
Absolutely love Chute Rooster! Owner Ryan was our bartender, so friendly to chat with, and has created an amazing atmosphere. Drinks are great, food is delicious, and I feel like I’m at home. Will be back again before we leave!
We had just gotten into town and heard great things about Chute Rooster so we immediately went to get dinner. The people there are so nice and welcoming! I chose their Mile of Hell Burger and boy was it good! I was a little overpowered by the heat so our server brought me some delicious coffee to help the burn. It was a really fun and delicious time. I'll be a returning customer every time I come through Hill City!
