Overall: great store with nice service and inviting atmosphere.
Review: I think the carvel ice cream store was really nice. It should be noted that this was the first carvel store I've ever been to so I can only compare it to similar ice cream stores (i.e. Coldstone, Ritas, etc.).
The store is small so don't bring a soccer or baseball team here unless you like tight spaces. There is some, keyword some, seating outside of you feel too crowded in the store or just want to enjoy some fresh air. Unbeknownst to me there was a $10 minimum for credit cards. On a positive note it just made me try another or doubt of theirs (mini Oreo sandwiches very good!)
The ice cream itself is very smooth and creamy, more so than cold stone in my opinion, but you can't mix the toppings in like cold stone. However, they do have the quintessential toppings that most ice cream stores have so that's a definite plus.
There isn't a parking lot so you have to park on the street (which is free!).
For a small privately owned store it was well maintained and the owner took extra care to feel like the customer was his only priority. Definitely recommend to anyone who's in highland park and wants a cold, sweet treat!
It's a charming little ice cream shop with great ice cream and good customer service ππ And no it is not expensive, I have been robbed so to speak at other ice cream joints, this place isn't one of them! Eat and enjoy ππ¨π§π¦
