I absolutely love this place!!! Warm atmosphere, and delicious food. The owners are always so sweet and friendly, I feel like I’m at my family’s for dinner every time I’m there. Great place to have a party, family gathering, or simply to eat the best bbq in town.
The ribs and bbq sauce were amazing. So thankful to be introduced to this great place to eat.
Really enjoyed the BBQ here. Ordered "Dem Beef Bones" (beef ribs), the Texas Brisket Dinner, and some buffalo wings.
Nice-sized portions, high-quality meat, and tasty all around.
Worth trying, and if you're like us, you'll be back.
Cute little saloon style restaurant, love the golf vibe of the restaurant, the food was very good, staff are very friendly especially the host and waitress, foods a little pricey but you’re paying for good quality food so it’s worth it

This has become one of my favorite local restaurants due to doing what they do extremely well and being genuinely nice people who are invested in the community.
To give an indication of how I hold The BBQ Pit up as special, I've told the family I want my birthday dinner from here each year since we moved to HP. With young kids, we've been getting carryout, but I'd love to dine in at some point.
They offer a special carryout package with an enormous about of food for under $80. The cost has risen for the special in the past couple of years, which is explained by the owner on their online menu. You can sense the disappointment in the way he apologizes and explains that his costs have risen.
Following the tragic July 4 mass shooting in HP, The BBQ Pit hosted an open house of sorts, welcoming the community to come in and heal together. How amazing is that? I can't think of another business that did such a thing during what was a really difficult time for our town.
All of this and I haven't yet mentioned the food. The ribs are fantastic - tender but not falling off the bone. They're always perfectly cooked and the sauce is outstanding. The ribs don't have a heavy smoke taste/smell; sometimes that can overwhelm the flavor of the meat. On our most recent visit, we also got their fried shrimp, and they were outstanding!
If you're still reading, congratulations... but it's time to stop reading and pay a visit to The BBQ Pit!
I LOVE this restaurant!!!!!!! Their Greek salad is the best you'll find anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the skirt steak was very tender. Our waitress was overwhelmed and overworked but tried hard to please us. Glad to see they're doing quite well. It was crowded tonight.
I've been ordering from BBQ Pit for a long long time. When I picked it up the food was always fresh, hot, and ready when I was told. I've never had a problem with any order I've ever placed. The people there were always neighborly friendly and I always felt at home. I've never been disappointed, especially with the impulse purchases of some delicious desserts staring me down at the register. Since covid-19, I still order and stand by them whenever I want to treat myself to a great meal. The food is still really tasty, always hot, always correct and is delivered by the friendliest and nicest guy. For me, it's a nice experience from beginning to finger licking end. Ed
Overall, it was pretty good. Their fries are definitely the best to-go fries we’ve had since COVID. My husband got gyros and a Greek salad. He thought they were both pretty good and would order them again.
I got the pulled pork sandwich and I will say they definitely didn’t skimp on pork or fries. The sandwich was kind of overwhelmed with pulled pork. Normally, that would be great because you could pull some off and eat for leftovers. But, this pork was very, very smoky tasting. I’m not sure if they used more smoke or liquid smoke than they normally do, but it was a very smoky product. I probably wouldn’t order the pulled pork again if it’s consistently that smoky. My husband tried it and agreed. Definitely disappointed because overall it seems like a solid place, but the smokiness of the pulled pork just was too much for me.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, a fantastic neighbor hood place! We've been going there for 15 years, adding it to our regulars list, so should you!
Unassuming little joint in a northern suburbs strip mall, but without equivocation just about the best brisket I’ve had in my life. It’s down to this place and Elmer’s in Tulsa, OK. With brisket like this it’s no wonder they’ve been in business 42 years! The sauce is uniquely well-balanced; just vinegary enough! Strongly recommended!
They are so good to my elderly grandparents which is one of the reasons we are often there. The food is also realty good. My family enjoys their baby back ribs, the Greek salad (with the delicious shrimp), and the pulled pork.
Food was delicious and hot! I placed a carryout order lastnight of 3 entrees of baby back ribs & 1 surf n turf entree (shrimp & ribs). The gentleman had my order prepared before I got there. Awesome customer service. My 1st time ordering with them.
