Pita Delite

Pleasant lunch with plenty of menu options. Both meals were well proportioned and seemed a good value. The steak & cheese pita had very tender steak, though not quite hot enough to melt the provolone cheese slice inside. The chicken fajita pita had slightly dry chicken, and the sauce was a little thin, but it did have good flavor. We would have preferred a little extra toppings. There was plenty of lettuce but diced tomatoes, onions, etc. would have set it off well. Salsa & sour cream as additions would have been appreciated for the fajita pita. When the menu said "chips" we assumed it was pita chips as there were containers of them at the counter. Getting a bag of store bought chips was a little let down. Onion rings were good. Spanakopita had a nice flaky crust and good flavor, but could use a little more cheese in the filling. Overall, it was a good lunch and we would be willing to try some other menu options in the future.

It's hard to find good Mediterranean food, so when somebody mentioned that there was a place to get falafel nearby I jumped at the chance. I expected the tough supermarket type of pita bread that I was used to, but the pita here is shockingly pillow soft and very pleasant. The falafel weren't hard fried spheres like I'm used to, they were more crumbled up and used as an ingredient in the sandwich rather than a focus. I got the falafel pita and there is definitely a strong taste of the vinegar olivey taste throughout, so have them leave off the olives if you're not into that (I am!) I opted for fried onion petals for a buck extra and I'm glad I did because they were really really really good too! honestly there was like nine people in line when I got there, which speaks for itself as to the popularity of this place, so the fact that they also have like a 97/98 health rating and the kitchen was absolutely immaculate when I peeked through the open door getting my soda... That says a lot about a place, and it's all good. Like another reviewer commented, the guy behind the register was super friendly and made me feel welcomed right away, even in the height of the lunch rush.

Delicious food and warm service. The gyro platter (pictured) was wonderful. I'm still thinking about that spinakopita! The only room for improvement I could think of was the cucumber sauce which lacked the flavor I had expected (could have just been a bad batch). The food was flawless and didn't need it, and I'll definitely be back.
