I've been to Hickory for dinner and date night many times but recently have been eating more plant-based so in searching for vegan or vegetarian restaurants in Hickory this popped up. It did not disappoint. Great beer options, wine options, and the hummus + edamame was outstanding. Really enjoyed the relaxed vibe and service.

Crescent Moon Cafe is a great budget-friendly restaurant in Downtown Hickory. We tend to go around lunchtime during the workweek. They have a great staff that takes care of you promptly, respecting a person's lunch hour. The food is phenomenal as well. Highly recommend trying the Cresent Moon Sandwich!

A friend and I ate here for the first time and enjoyed it very much. The outside is deceptive to how cute and comfortable you will find the interior. Clean facility with nice tables, and comfy chairs throughout. The restaurant is difficult to spot if you have not been there before. The large "for lease" banner hanging above the restaurant on the outside gives the impression the restaurant is closed, which does not help. The friend I was meeting said that even though her GPS kept saying the restaurant was on her left, she could not figure out where it was. The food was delicious. I got the special of the day; a turkey mushroom melt and it was tasty! Their potato salad was scrumptious! They have a huge selection of fun craft beers. I was also very impressed with how reasonable their prices were. It is difficult to find a sit-down meal for under $10. You will not have a problem with that at Crescent Moon. Beer prices were reasonable as well. What a refreshing change from the high prices at most quality restaurants. Definitely five-stars when the food, price and service were all great! Thank you, I will be back. :)

Brian, is it standard practice for your establishment to throw away a person's purse/bag in an OUTSIDE trash can immediately when the customer leaves it? But returns in less than 10 minutes and then they are lied to about where they put the purse/bag. The contents of this bag contained items valued around $2000 including cash, two phones, headphones and other irreplaceable personable items. I had to cancel credit/debit cards. We were in your establishment last weekend also. We have never been treated like we were treated last night. We brought two friends we met at the race in downtown Hickory. The bag belonged to me. I caused no problems. We promptly left when we were no longer going to be served. Leaving so promptly we also left a bike we won at an auction on the square. Only after we returned to retrieve our items were we told by customers outside that the bag was in the trash can and the bike was just set on the street. The bike could have been stolen. This event upset all of us and there was a commotion. We were threatened by a customer outside with a knife. We had every right to be upset when our belongings were trashed. The bag contained our livelyhood. You run a bar that people get intoxicated at and might not have all their barings when they leave. Your employees don't watch after their customers? I feel like its a moral responsibility to at least keep the items until closing. A person isn't going to get far without their wallet and/or phone. That wouldn't be a place a customer would return to after being treated like that. I hope as a business owner you do not commend this practice.

I was looking for a spot for supper and stumbled upon this hidden gem! What a way to ring in the new year! The service was amazing and was following all of the protocols put in place by the state. I ordered the Lunar Sub on a gluten free bun with nacho chips and homemade salsa as my side and a Bubs Cherry Pink Lemonade Seltzer. The food was delicious and it was the perfect portion size for a meal. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a local bite to eat and a cold beverage!

Cresent Moon was a great spot I ate at for lunch. Their entire menu is made up of unique dishes different than chain restaurants. I ended up with the creole bean burger which was quite good; it was definitely hand made. The smoked gouda and caramelized onions added some flavor. It would be a 5 star if the the burger had some "heat" - I was expecting it being a "creole". The home made salsa was exceptional. I couldn't get enough of it. Service was 5 star. Super chill, laid back atmosphere.

My regular favorite go-to in Hickory! Delicious and abundant vegan options in an otherwise pretty scarce area. It's great to go out to eat with friends and family without getting stuck with plain lettuce and an empty stomach. Everyone I bring instantly loves Crescent Moon. They have a great variety of drinks (mixed, liquor, ales, lagers, beers, ciders, etc). Food is so well priced and always delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with staff who are always wonderful. Cannot recommend this place enough.
