Velvet Cream

Did velvet cream has probably been here for a million years. Here in Hernando you will find a down home feel. Where your manners still matter. The velvet creme is a block from the town square. Cutesy little cozy rosie town in north Mississippi. My sister my daughter and I visited over the holidays. The food is very unique. The ice creams is so good. There is no wonder that this place has been open so long. I'm sure that it will be open for many years to come The amount of ice cream that comes on a scoop is outrageous. I have never had such a large ice cream in my life. It was awesome. My daughter and I visit our family and Hernando a couple times a year at least. We always make it a point to stop by The Velvet Creme for milkshake or ice cream or something. This was my sister's first visit but I think she was happy with it. In the summertime the parking lot is full of people of all ages young people kids little kids teens just hanging out eating their ice cream. It's a very popular place. Even in the winter the hometown folks like to sit around on the benches or on their tailgate and have their ice cream or their dinner. I think it's very whimsical and very Southern. It totally gives you the feel of 50 years ago. I totally recommended velvet cream and everything that they have the wedding cake ice cream is awesome I would recommend that too. The next time next time you're in Hernando stop by and check it out bring the kids and the grandma they'll all of it. Maybe it can be your next tradition like ours.

I am super disappointed with the management here. Super unprofessional, and RUDE. I used to love the dip, but it has absolutely went DOWN THE DRAIN sadly.. I have always heard terrible stories about this place, but gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to eat here… NOT ANYMORE. Yes, I can say the food is great, but the management is terrible which ruins the whole experience. Not worth it. :( Someone with good customer service skills - please take over this once amazing restaurant, and make it great again! (they are most definitely removing all their bad reviews because I know so many people who have complained about the management here)

Will not be going back. I have been here multiple times in the past but this time they messed up everything. I asked for and paid for malts and they gave me hand scooped ice cream and said they don't make malts for that ice cream even though the past 5 or 6 times I've gotten it, it was a malt. This was the OWNER saying they didn't make it. He doesn't even know his product. I got a fried chicken salad that cost $13 and was the quality of something from McDonald's. My girlfriend got cheese fries with bacon which sounds great, but for $15 it should be a full to go box of fries, but instead she got a small hot dog box that wasn't even full. There was hardly any cheese and the little bac9n there was wasn't even cut up. I absolutely refuse to go back until the owner decides to learn his product, quit charging outrageous prices for junk quality, and actually explain up front that they don't do something rather than wait till after I pay!

Very pricey- BUT you do get a good amount of what you ordered and it's really good. There was a man there at the end of the drive thru making sure everyone got everything and he was very kind and got us an extra spoon (they didn't mess up, we had to give a spoon to someone who couldn't use a straw but they gave him one, that was on us for not asking before-hand) Nice to come here with friends
