I don't ever rate things, but this restaurant is worth it. Exsquite food, great atmosphere, I suggest you try it!
It's the best place to eat in Hermosa and surrounding communities.... We always take family and friends to dinner at Chef Melba's.... She cooks everything fresh and from scratch...lots of veggies, fresh fish, beef and chicken.... Awesome desserts too

Delicious Dining!. Chef Melba's Bistro one of my favorite places to dine ! The Chef is incredible, treating diners with such fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes from ginger sauce Scallops to Tequila Braised Short Ribs. It is a Cozy Place so you will make friends with your Table Neighbor, however the excellent service from Anna and Shanna make you Feel like Family. A Gem of a Place in the Heart of Hermosa.
Great little neighborhood restaurant. A hidden gem only a short distance from the beach! Why drive across town when you can find great food and a relaxed atmosphere locally. We enjoyed watching Melba and her sous chef work calmly and efficiently in the kitchen. Food was delicious and the service was excellent.

I was visiting Hermosa beach for my first time and was lucky enough to stay across the street from what is now my most favorite restaurant in the world. Chef Melba and John made me feel like I was at home. The food was absolutely amazing and the service and atmosphere were perfect.
We have been going to Chef Melba’s for over 10 years and it never disappoints. A hidden gem in South Bay, how do people not know about this place?!?! Melba always comes by to catch up with our family and John is always so nice and helpful. Pretty much everything on the menu is amazing…and huge. You will definitely get your $$’s worth. Our personal favorites are the Petrale Sole, ceviche, tuna tartar, and the chocolate bag for dessert.
Excellent restaurant in Hermosa Beach! We went there for a birthday and everyone really loved it. The quality of the food is amazing! We took the paella and the lamb. Excellent! Plus, the service is very careful. The chef came to see us at the end of the lunch and she's is an amazing woman with a lot of personality. Same for the waiter who was really nice.
I highly recommend that restaurant.
What a great little find this is in a busy Beach community. It's small with limited hours but the food is simply amazing. I recommend the Rustic Petrale Sole, it melts in your mouth.
This gem of a place is THE BEST. Chef Melba and John are masters of their crafts. The food and wine is incredible and the service is so kind and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious -- Chef Melba even made a special vegetarian pasta dish for me that was not on the menu. It's the best restaurant in Hermosa without a doubt -- you have to try it if you haven't.
Went to Chef Melbas for our holiday party! We had an amazing time. The food was absolutely spectacular. Our waiters were wonderful. Looking forward to eating there in the future. What a great place!
Chef Melba and her team (especially Jan) are absolutely fantastic. Her menu is inventive, her team (Jan) is incredible, and their wine list thoughtfully prepared. It’s easy to tell when your meal has been prepared with passion and love, things Chef Melba pours into every meal she creates. Best team, unreal fresh food, fabulous location.
Spanish octopus was wonderfull as was the pasta with seabrass. Good wine. Nice waiter from Slovakia. Afterwards for a walk at Hermosa Beach
