The Source Cafe

Great local spot. Super cute area right in the center of Hermosa Beach. With plenty of restaurants to choose from in the area, we were happy to have stumbled upon The Source. We were warmly welcomed and greeted with a display of all their homemade desserts and pastries. Their colorful smoothies, juices, elixirs, and shots were so inviting and too hard to turn down. We tried the Beets drink and the Blue Majik smoothie. They were delicious. To eat we had paninis and avocado toast. Everything locally sourced and good for you. We look forward to trying out more dishes upon our next stop. Great experience, just know it is on the pricey end!

I must say the baking is on point kuddos to chef Cindy the best baker I know, she is simply amazing, kind, approachable, and beautiful. Thanks for making my visit today positive Chef Cindy I love you! You ladies have a great team from Josi, Franklin, Taylor, Branden, and Adriana. Good quality and healthy ingredients. If this is what you're looking for, they have lots of options. Fast friendly service. It was fairly busy. Social distancing inside was at a minimum, but that's just because people were not being careful. There are a few outside tables. There is a grab and go cooler near the door with many options as well. Parking is all metered and the city loves the tickets so be careful.

This place boasts about its allergen friendly menu which is great for me since I have to careful about hot and spicy ingredients. I bought an incredibly pricey pre-packaged tuna salad, ate two bites and felt a crazy heat spreading in my mouth. I read over the ingredients listed on the package to see if I’d missed something the first time and didn’t see anything hot and spicy. Then I saw that there were tiny pieces of red chili pepper and chili pepper seeds mixed in with the tuna. I have Gastrointestinal Esophageal Reflux Disease and stuff like this can ruin my day. I went to the bathroom and washed my mouth out and luckily got the chili out before I swallowed it. I told the guy at the counter that there’s no point in listing every ingredient on a package if you don’t list EVERY ingredient and it didn’t seem to make a difference to him. On the plus side they do have delicious chai!
