Review Hometown Roots - Henderson

This is my second time this week at Hometown Roots. Great service! The music is fun. The food is flavorful and fresh. My salad had nice dark greens with tomatoes that tasted as if they came right out of the garden. Tonight I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. My favorite of all of North America!!!! Rich and deep flavors without burning the top layer off of my tongue! 🌶🌶🌶 The cornbread is so tasty I am sure it is a sin. 😇. Now, should I try the banana pudding? 🍌💗

Fun menu and inventive cocktail list. The line out the door on a Saturday night let me know that it was a solid choice. If Rebecca and Rex are at the bar you are in for a treat. They know how to pair a great beer or cocktail with whatever you order and we'll make sure you have a good time. (I know it's hard to take a picture of a bathroom sink but I thought it was clever. I also like the mini pickle jars that they use when you taste a beer. Both go to show how the restaurant is dedicated toward a fun customer experience)

The food was surprisingly quick made and completely fresh, looked beautiful and tasted amazing! They serve a large meal that's beautifully garnished and savory in every bite. Our waiter, Travis, was absolutely wonderful and a joy to have! He was extremely kind and patient, such a comfort to have around. This place is so nice, I recommend it highly if you are looking for a truly southern experience.

The atmosphere was fabulous and the food was worth the price. The smoked meatloaf was great. Have to recommend the pimento cheese fritters. The Brussels sprouts were our only negative, but they were nice enough to replace them with the fritters.

I can't believe 1 of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at is here in Henderson Kentucky! All around GREAT!!! Food , prices , service , is some of the best in the United States!

My pork chop wasn't cooked all the way through, they threw it back on the grill and still wasn't all the way done. But I will be honest the flavor of the food made up for it. The waitress was very respectful, and the atmosphere was awesome. This will not stop me from giving them a second try.

First time to eat here. Was in the area and asked Google what was close. We were not disappointed. Great food, great service. Tried the deviled egg munchie. Never had a deep fried deviled egg before. You have to try them. Will return when in the area.

Great food and atmosphere - this will be the busiest corner in Hendo for years to come. 70 bourbons, lots of craft beer on tap at the bar. Interesting southern food like pork belly, pimento poppers, meatloaf, and a killer spicy Mac & cheese where all awesome. If you think Southern food means Cracker Barrel fare, this isn’t it. 3 stars better than that. Highly recommend!!!

Totally amazing from the minute you walk in the door! Service was great and the food is off the hook!! Casey and his crew have created a sauce that I would buy by the gallon and put on everything I eat� I will never have to cross the bridge to eat again�

My dinner party of 7 went Aug 18th. This included my granddaughter for her 18th birthday. We arrived at 4 pm as ypunopebed the doors. We wanted to get in and not have to wait. We were greeted warmly. Seated quickly. Someone came to take our drink orders. No problem there. An older gentleman came and talked to us all. Made us feel very welcome. However, after placing our food order it took almost 1 hour to get out food. Other people who came in after us where served, had eaten and were leaving. We felt like we had been left out. When our meals came they were nice portions and looked great. But when 2 of my group cut into the pork chops they were very fatty and unable to eat them. My fried chicken so tender but it had no seasoning as the salt in the breading had been left out. And it was very greasy. My granddaughter French fries were so greasy. Most of my group was very upset and left hungry. I and we all realize you've only been open a short time. But so much preparation had been put into the food prep I was sure all would be well. We are not ones to complain or send food back or look for free meals. We have dined all over the tri state and was really hoping that this would be the new best place to go. As we have exhausted all other places. Even the dessert menu wasn't available and it was my granddaughter 18th birthday. Most will not be back in sorry to say. I hope things get better and this establishment is successful. Very dissatisfied

Henderson is lucky to have Casey Todd back! Hometown Roots is busy, busy, busy! The group I was with had a good time sharing appetizers and meals. The nacho appetizer is really yummy! (House made potato chips, candied jalapeños, pork, pickled onions) I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp had a delicious smoky flavor. Everything I tasted was very good!

Just went to the soft opening, this place is awesome! Food, service, atmosphere. Top quality. Loved the pimiento cheese balls. My favorite.

Everything we had was sooo good! We were lucky enough to attend a soft opening and it was great!! Staff, service, atmosphere, food- everything was just excellent. Nachos are fantastic!! Love the little twist on all the classics!!

This is exactly what Henderson needs. We had an amazing time at the soft opening. Not only is the atmosphere warm and inviting, so is the staff. Everything we tried was delicious and we can't wait to try more. We will be regulars. Congrats

I can and probably will eat my weight in Shrimp and Grits! Great beers, great food. Love seeing our downtown grow.

Buffalo cheese Mac was delicious! Friendly servers and hostesses too. So happy to have this place in town!

Flawless dinner. The food, the service, the atmosphere, absolutely every single detail of our dining experience was incredible. This will definitely be our new spot.

The second you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile. The food was amazing! The place looks so nice. Want a home cooked meal without cooking? Visit hometown roots! My 1 year old ate up the pulled pork and green beans. His favorite! Can’t wait to go back when they open!

Great atmosphere, down-home menu and a fine bourbon selection. Owner Casey Todd is terrific and Aaron, the bar manager, is a pro. Love the jalapeño cornbread!

The food, service, and drink selection were all top notch!! It’s so amazing to see a restaurant like this in Henderson.
