Everything about this place was amazing, we ate the baked chicken, the ribs, yellow rice, salad with a house made dressing and white beans...seriously I was transported to another place...that's how yummy everything was. Marta's service was amazing, she let us sample some items from the buffet before buying, her hospitality is unmatched, it's like I went to an aunt's house, an aunt that I love and hadn't seeing in a while. Then on our way out, when we couldn't eat anymore, we purchased to go some of the amazing Pork Loin that had just come out the oven, this we had sampled as well. Lastly I always judge the cleanliness of a restaurant by the cleanliness of the bathroom and the bathroom was very clean. Can't wait to go back =D

After reading the reviews from others so I went to check them myself. A gentleman welcome and greet me to all the choices. OMG mouth watering from entrance. So much good food to choose from.Everything looks so delicious. I went with Baked Pork marinated with Yellow rice and Black bean gravy. They are so kind to give me a small bowl of red bean gravy as well. Wow! My food choice is so delicious soft tenders and the gravies is so good. Got my Dominican Soda to soak up my tummies. I also have a To go of Salmon with yellow rice and beans for my wife and she said it's delicious as well. This place is A must to try. Reasonable price.Nice owners Highly recommend to everyone.

First of all the food is AMAZING! I had salmon with yellow rice and the taste was to die for. I also ordered a custom tres leches cake and Martha did not disappoint! She did an amazing job with the cake and everyone at my event loved the cake. It was so moist and not too sweet and BEAUTIFUL! If you ever need a cake or catered food, always come here! It’s the best!

El Mofongo is what I needed in the area. A great home style Dominican restaurant, which reminds me of one of my old favorite spots in Washington Heights. They take no shortcuts in their preparation and everything felt as though I was visiting family. Look forward to trying their sancocho and tres golpes next time.

I can't say enough on how much I appreciate the food here. The food is authentic with a variety of well stewed meats ( ribs, chicken, pork, steak). The yellow rice and black beans are out of this world. I loved the sweet plantains. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates a genuine experience and doesn’t need a high end dining experience. We had the Red Sangria and Margarita. Both of which were solid drinks. The restaurant is no frills, conducive to families and affordable with sizeable portions. Bring your appetite. You won't be disappointed

We always stop in whenever we’re in the area. The pernil and baked chicken are the best we’ve had. So flavorful. Marta is so welcoming and kind in giving samples of everything to my kids and me. There’s nothing we’ve tried that wasn’t amazing. Today she had us try her new mango tres leches - so good!!! The food alone would have us coming in all the time but the warm reception we get every time we go makes it really special. We are very thankful to have found it.

Dinner tonight was nothing short of outstanding! No matter how often we pick up dinner, the food is always delicious and the service excellent. Marta is a sweetheart, always so welcoming and loves offering samples which are all so tempting that it makes it hard to choose. I ordered the pernil which is my absolute favorite and my husband the ribs, both were so flavorful and moist. For desert we shared Mango Tres Leches which was heavenly, truly nothing like I have had before. Can't wait for our next visit.

Good chiken mofongo missed the crunchy bites,. But he gave u plenty amount of chicken,.. hard to eat a mofongo without the Mojito garlic sauce (not available) I'm from PR and always have that option available. But overall was good 👍,. Next visit I'll try the Pernil, looks so go. 👌

Nice family run place. Very welcoming. We tried a number of dishes. We preferred the pork ribs over the roast pork. The chicken stews were good, as were the yellow rice and black beans. Pistachio cake for dessert was light and not too sweet.

Bangin! Everything was incredibly flavorful and tasted like it was made with love. If you want proper Latin food on the island this is the spot. Right when we walked in the owner/staff were very friendly and helpful. She gave us samples of everything we wanted to try to help us decide what we would like to order. The pork/rib combo was my favorite, the chicken was delicious as well. Our plates were massive combos of yellow rice & beans, pork/rib and chicken with sweet plantains. I don’t know how I managed to almost finish everything but it was too good not to. We were also given their home made hot sauce which was spicyyy (for me at least) and packed with a punch of flavor. I couldn’t leave without trying their tres leches, and it did not disappoint. Sweet but not too sweet, with hints of spices coming through. The best part is that it was sitting in the delicious dessert soup so you can soak the cake in for more flavor. They also have a new Nutella tres leches I will have to try the next time I visit. And their Dominican sodas are very tasty and a bit less sweet than Jarritos.
