Awesome diner vibe that reminded me of east coast diners. Great service, food and atmosphere. Had a chance to overhear the owner telling the story of how the place came to be in the hands of her mother in law. Nice story and could feel the pride of family ownership coming through. Great breakfast at good price. Especially enjoyed the french toast. Very home cooked feel where you actually see the egg layered on the sourdough toast unlike the ones in most restaurants and cafes.
The best breakfast place in the locality; the food is fresh, and the portions are substantial
Home style goodness diner with classic breakfast and lunch menu.
Very friendly staff, including two youngsters. Oddie was very attentive.
While staying in Healy (overnight) at Aurora Denali Lodge, we got the chance to eat at this cafe (not just once but twice, dinner and breakfast). The place is full of character, charm, and story to tell. I so love the simplicity of the place and the unexpected framed and funny quotations all over. So this place is usually filled during summertime, but in winter, when visited, we had the place to ourselves (tour group). We had so much fun (and laughter) dining at this place where we had great interaction with the owners and staff who are vivaciously funny. The breakfast menu is outstanding and has a big portion. I love the french toast. You got to love family owned diner that is being managed, tended, and served by the owners themselves. That in itself make eveything personal and special.
Loved this small town restaurant. It serves the most delicious breakfast. I loved it so much, specially their house special sauce that comes with the order is the best part. Their sourdough cinnamon roll is to die for.
Love their french toast and hot chocolate. Been there in August by the way
This is likely the best diner in Healy. Their home made cinnamon buns were great. Not too sickly sweet like many can be, and came out to us warm and soft. I got the country fried steak with eggs and hashbrowns. Everything on my plate was cooked perfectly. It was delicious. I also loved their home-made sourdough. Highly recommend stopping in for breakfast/brunch!
Great breakfast, the best one I have had in AK! Get the sourdough and the hash browns!
A gem in the middle of nowhere! In the words of my brother, "I'm not generally a 'fries' person but... Those are really good fries!" My Breakfast Burrito Bomb was also fresh, hot, and delicious! The homemade salsa was fairly spicy (I would say medium-hot) and very yummy. My husband says they're open seasonally; during this summer (2021) they're open 8am-2pm.
One of the best meals we had in Alaska. Sourdough bread, especially in a grilled cheese was phenomenal. Soup of the day was Turkey Noodle and it was excellent. Big portions too.
