Jb's Bbq

Amazing food, great hospitality and did I say amazing food. Brisket and Ribs were flavorful and tender. We had potato salad, baked beans, onion rings, and fried okra for sides all equally delicious. The onion rings and okra tasted like they were fried in fresh clean oil. The chicken tenders-seasoned and tender. The establishment itself was really clean. A must stop!

I had seen this restaurant on a recent trip through Hazlehurst & knew then that I wanted to try it when I got a chance. This time I was actually in town to attend Robert Smith's auction in downtown Hazlehurst & had made sure I got in town early enough to eat before the auction. When I pulled into my parking spot at J B's, I saw the one thing that caused me to give them 4 Stars opposed to 5, and that was the factory built cooker that either operates off of gas or electricity, and in my opinion these aren't BBQ Pits, they are simply fancy ovens that anyone can make palatable cooked meats in. Now once I got inside the service & atmosphere made up for that oven. The BBQ itself was tender & moist with the sauce served on the side, which to me is the only way to serve Pulled Pork BBQ, & it was a good size sandwich for the money. Note: The Sandwich would have been even better with slaw. All in all, this was a really good BBQ Shack & I will be eating there again when I am in the area. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in that area wanting to not only get a good meal for a fair price, but also simply to support your small business owners.
