Great River

A revelation. I ate here once along, long time ago(decades). Thought it was at best okay. Was craving chinese and wanted to explore...this place popped into my head. Decades ago a coworker had mentioned her Asian friends went here. Thought I would give them another shot, glad I did. The hot and sour soup was as I like it, good flavor (don't see pork "matchsticks", but the flavor is good). A small soup is equal to 3 or 5 typical serving bowls, so good value. Have had the Mongolian beef (no sugar added, just beef, green onions, red onions and the crispy white noodles-excellant flavor). I had the szechuan beef on another trip-deep fried slightly crunchy with garlic sauce (they said no sugar added, any sweetness is from the garlic sauce). The fried prawns were served in the ring style butterflied method (ask for hot mustard,).

One of the best place to get salt ‘n pepper chicken wings here at Hayward! Crispy and juicy~ 🤗 A bit pricey though. They do deliveries, so don’t use DoorDash or GrabHub if you want something from here, to avoid extra charges other than delivery fees.... and If you live close enough, the fee is very cheap. Check out their website to calculate the fee according to your location.

I ordered twice from this restaurant. The first time I had a great experience with a female staff member. I spoke to someone different the second time. Unfortunately, I had a difficult time communicating with the second staff member due to a communication barrier. I asked to possibly speak to someone else and the waitress said no one else is available. A few minutes later I received a call from the owner stating that they cannot deliver my food. I asked why and he indicated that I do not respect his staff. This seems pretty senseless to loose business due to a communication barrier and I will NOT return to this establishment.
