Bamboo Restaurant

First time in Big Island and we visited Bamboo by recommendation from the valet at the resort we were staying at. From the moment we walked in to when we left we had a great experience. Ordered the daily catch sandwich and Thai coconut stir fry with noodles. The food was so good we didn’t even have time to take pictures! The Lililkoi iced tea was truly one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, they even gave us tea to go! All of the staff were kind, the gallery and gift shop were great to view. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you!

Our favorite restaurant on the big island. We return here every time because the service is extremely attentive, the food is outstanding. and the ambience is charming. As most of us know, service on the islands can be a little bit complacent, but the Bamboo restaurant is always a place where the service and attitude of the staff, of praise worthy. From the ownership, to the wait staff, to the Chef , this place is a must. In addition, it has a nice gallery upstairs it’s worth viewing.

The Bamboo Restaurant is a good stop when either passing through or staying in and around Hawi. The high winds today knocked out power to the north coast, but the Bamboo is on a generator so could still make food. The restaurant is quaint, with friendly staff who are making sure you stay well hydrated - be it water or iced tea refills! The owner was checking on tables frequently and was making everyone dining there feel like part of the family. We had the prawn stir fry dish rice and the Thai salad with rare ahi tuna. Both were tasty, along with the local hot sauces. The gallery is a nice place to browse before and after the meal. A super chill lovely spot on the north coast.

This is a bamboo themed restaurant (as the name suggests). No bamboo related dishes though, but everything we ordered tasted good. Coconut prawn: very good. Not exactly sure what the dressing was, but it was tasty 😋 Salad with papaya seed dressing: very refreshing and fresh. Nothing to complain about Seared ahi tuna: the dish we loved the most. We thought this was going to be a heavier dish, but the tartar and mango salsa made it light and refreshing, which was pretty surprising
