I visited Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck and we ordered two platters. Let me start by saying the portions they serve are enormous. You could easily split a platter with someone. The shrimp was delicious. We were lucky to be among the first customers, and that’s a choice I definitely don’t regret. The line got quite long shortly after. What’s impressive is that they serve your food quite fast. Just remember, it’s cash-only here; they don’t accept cards. The staff is friendly, and they offer other food options in case someone in your group is allergic to shrimp. There are about 5 to 6 food trucks in this area, so you have variety. Parking can be a bit tricky; it’s limited, so be prepared to walk a bit from somewhere else if needed. Parking costs $5. One pleasant surprise was the gentleman handling the parking fees – he was extremely friendly and engaging. We had some good laughs while waiting for Giovanni’s to open. One thing to note is that seating is limited, so we ended up sharing a table with another group, which worked out just fine as both parties were respectful.

Shrimp Scampi was really good and the shrimp were quite big. It was a little heavy on the garlic (and I love garlic), but it was still very flavorful & delicious. Their Garlic Dog was good too and had the same garlic scampi sauce as the shrimp. Both plates came with 2 scoops of rice, so there was plenty of food and we also got a side of macaroni salad. The food truck is in a nice outdoor market area, so after you eat you can walk it off and check out all the other local vendors there. It's a great way to help support the area. If shrimp isn't your thing, there are plenty of other food trucks there..

Loved our lunch! We had an order of the garlic shrimp and lemon butter shrimp. Absolutely delicious! And there’s chickens that run around freely, that was fun. They kept wanting a snack! The shrimp were big and cooked perfectly. It’s peel and eat which I love!

Parking is $2. There are several food trucks in the parking lot, and Giovanni's is by far the most busy. Stick with their signature dish the Shrimp Scampi. The mix of olive oil, lemon butter, and caramelized garlic just hits right! You'll be licking your fingers! Added the Mac salad and ended up being the best meal during our visit to Oahu.

Loads of hype around this place which makes it super busy. But the service is very quick, we were maybe 30 people back in the queue and it took less than 10 minutes. Don’t bother getting anything other than the shrimp scampi, it’s the best. I’m not sure I can give this the best shrimp food truck award on Oahu but it’s up there.

The famous Giovanni’s! The shrimp was very tasty. We had the garlic scampi and the hot and spicy. The garlic was excellent. The hot and spicy- two people had it from our family and didn’t adore the spicy flavor. ( they liked Fumis spicy more) though this was better cooked here! It’s $16 for a plate of 12 shrimps and rice. Parking is $2 and it’s packed. So make sure you have time to wait. There was a 15 min line up to order. The atmosphere is very nice and there is music playing from the truck next to Giovanni’s so it’s fun. While you wait make sure to grab a table as space is limited. There is a sink to wash your hands in front of the parking lot on the east side. Oh. It’s cash only…

Got the butter garlic shrimp. Good flavour, but the rice was overcooked and shrimp were not as big as I was expecting - appreciated the extra sauce on the food (whether I needed the extra butter or not haha). Parking charges and only took cash. Definitely prefer Jenny’s, as we ate them side by side for comparison.

Everyone told us to go to this place...and we can see why, it tastes amazing! Probably the best garlic shrimp I've ever had. The prawns were huge and very succulent and garlicky. We washed it down with a fresh cane juice from a food truck across the way. Make sure to bring cash because most of these food trucks, including Giovanni's, only take cash!

Finally back to Hawaii and eating at Giovanni's Shrimp truck again. During this trip, we tried both locations (truck & H Mart). This review is for the truck location. The flavor was still amazing. At the truck location, we ordered the Garlic Shrimp Scampi only, because apparently the other options were out. It didn't bother us, because we already tried the hot & spicy plate and it was more than enough 😁😂🤣. They were short-handed, but the line was not long (around 3/3:30pm) and service was pretty quick. The garlic rice was good, but if there were a little more garlic, it would take it over the top. Nonetheless, we enjoyed it! Can't wait to come back. Mahalo!🤙

If on the North Shore this is a must eat! The shrimp are fresh, garlicky, and finger linking good....there are community sinks nearby for hand washing, which will be necessary after grubbing on shrimp that Bubba Gump would brag about. The outdoor family reunion style seating is inviting, and the local free-range chickens will come by for bites of rice. So fun, so yum, and the other shops and vendors nearby make it a fun place to spend some time.
