Testa's Bakery

It’s really difficult to find a good bakery these days. I’m thrilled we came across this classic bakery. I wish I’d taken pictures but I was too busy swooning over all of the options in the cases. Everything was homemade, delicious, and made with love. There’s street parking as well as a municipal parking lot across the street.

Omg. We randomly stopped pass because it was the nearest place for cannoli, as we didn’t want to drive to South Philly. I think that these were the best cannolis I have ever had. The filling was not too sweet and a great consistency. The cannoli shell was light and textured, not too dense. I felt like this must be the perfect recipe for cannoli. We added on an apple cake at the end of the purchase and it is ridiculously good. It’s been about four days and it is so moist with perfectly balanced flavors and textures. The cakes are super affordable as well. This place is an instant favorite.

The ABSOLUTE BEST chocolate buttercream cake there ever was. I bought two today along with cannolis and cookies. All so delicious. I never had this cake before. The chocolate was a sweet rich treat. I thought I would have one bite, but I could not stop myself. I will be back for more. I bought a neighbor who just moved in one too. I am excited that it was such a great new neighbor gift!!!! Thank you once again Testa’s!

Amazing cheesecake. Served 10 for like $12. It's not the traditional cheesecake. It's like a cheese pie. So light and fluffy. Yum. I want another one. We also had a few different cookies and they were very good. The bakery itself is very outdated looking and could use a little shining up. I don't want to say it's dirty, but just old and worn.

DON'T GO TO THIS STORE - Calling Heath Department! I have never given a 1 Star review before, but I went in to buy some pastries as a gift and the lady behind the counter had no gloves on. And DID NOT wash hands or place on gloves before scooping out the cookies with her bare hand. She placed the cookies in the box on tissue paper again laid into the box in a non food safety manner. Coming from the food business, and forgetting the Virus for a moment, she was so in the wrong of food safety. Tomorrow I am calling the Health Inspectors Office, for they should be fined for what I saw. I even saw her move cakes and such around again with nothing between the food and her hands. It is a drive, but if you want to see how it should be done, go to Termini's in South Philadelphia. I was going to the City for coffee at a older lady's home, and thought it would be nice to bring her something from "my neighborhood." I was so appalled - I just walked out. I am betting she just put the cookies back on the tray with her bare hands. My friend loved what I got her from Termini's - and of course I did not tell her what I had seen.
