Aloha Shrimp

On our trip to the North Shore back in April 2023, we stopped by at Aloha Shrimp. This old school blue shrimp truck won our hearts and was the best we had in this trip. Under the covered dining area, we enjoyed the large, plump shrimp which had a snappy bite and perfectly garlicky. The garlic sauce paired great with the rice and the plate also included corn and pineapple. The fresh lemon ice tea was refreshing. Cash only.

Delicious spicy garlic lemon shrimp! The sauce was great - spicy but you really tasted the lemon and garlic. They have other options that aren’t spicy. Several food trucks clustered so there’s something for everyone. It is right in the road but there are 2 different areas with picnic tables that are shaded and nice. Our kids got to hang out with the chickens and play.

08/2023: Delicious and decent portion size! Drove by here and decided to turn around so we could try it out. We got the garlic shrimp plate and the spicy garlic lemon shrimp plate. Both were fantastic. I’m usually a bit of a weeny when it comes to spice but the spicy shrimp was the perfect amount of spicy. Both plates were served with a side of yellow sweet corn and a slice of pineapple. We did have the deshell the shrimp, so just be prepared to get a little messy. Update 09/2023: Came here again with my mom and fiancé. We got the garlic shrimp, spicy garlic lemon shrimp, and the coconut shrimp. The plates still come with corn and a slice of pineapple. Each shrimp option was absolutely fantastic. Perfect flavor and texture of the shrimp and the rice. Recently tried the garlic shrimp at the North Shore Shrimp Truck and it was horrible compared to Aloha Shrimp. Well worth the drive. Service is wonderful and speedy and we enjoyed watching the chickens roam around while we ate.

This has got to be the best Garlic Shrimp plate on the island. Flavor was better than Jenny's or Angry Shrimp's. The Spicy Garlic Lemon Shrimp was the best. They also give a substantial amount of food for the money. Would recommend taking the food to go though. There was an infestation of wild chickens in the dining area. They get aggressive any time something lands on the ground.

Aloha Shrimp is an absolute the best when it comes to shrimp dishes in Oahu. Without a doubt, it’s the best shrimp we had during our entire stay on the island. What sets Aloha Shrimp apart is their unwavering commitment to serving freshly cooked food made to order. As you wait for your meal, you can appreciate the dedication that goes into each dish. They offer seating tables where you can relax see the chickens and enjoy your food, adding to the overall experience. One of the standout features here is the parking lot located conveniently at the back of the food truck. It’s a testament to their commitment to making dining here accessible and hassle-free. Now, let’s talk about the food itself. The rice was impeccable, a perfect complement to the star of the show – the shrimp. Each bite of the shrimp burst with flavor and left us craving for more. It’s hard to put into words just how delicious the shrimp were. Aloha Shrimp is a must-visit if you’re in the area and have a hankering for mouthwatering shrimp dishes that are prepared with love and care. It’s an experience that truly embodies the spirit of Aloha.

TASTY! Garlic Shrimp was garlicky, Lemon Shrimp was lemony, and Spicy Garlic Lemon Shrimp was spicy & garlicky & lemony. Pineapple was SWEET! Sooo delicious. Clean eating area. Don’t let the looks of the truck fool you - the shrimp is cleaned and deveined, and ingredients are well-prepared. We each counted 9 shrimp which was exactly enough to satisfy.

We have been to Giovanni’s Shrimp food truck and Aloha Shrimp by far is way better and slightly cheaper. We tried 3 different shrimps on their menu during our stay and all were delicious. All sauces were perfect and weren’t too powerful. Pictured is the lemon shrimp and the spicy garlic lemon shrimp. HIGHLY recommend.
