I love everything about this restaurant the people, the food, the constant talking in the prep area. The Italian beef tastes salty, a little bit sweet, and the texture is very soft and filling on the stomach. Would recommend the Italian beef!

I moved out from Chicago when I was a kid. Jay's is in my old neighborhood and it's a stop I still try to make whenever I'm in the area. Last Sunday my SO and I stopped by after a trip downtown, and not only did we get amazing food but we had a fantastic experience with the employees there. One of the gentlemen could tell that we don't go there often and came out from behind the counter to meet us and wish us a great Christmas; it was just a nice little personal touch you don't really get anywhere else. I'll continue to stop by Jay's beef every time I'm in the neighborhood, as this has become a staple for my family. You can't just get beef this good anywhere.

Great place and the owners were so polite and nice very welcoming and talkative omg .. let me not say the food was delicious and tasty I had the chicken sandwich and he had double burger and everyone else had Italian beef and did they love it. Am from Dixon Illinois I will be going back soon just for the chicken sandwich and maybe even try something else. Can't wait
