This will be a detailed and comprehensive review :) My family and I were in town, visiting Tugaloo State Park and staying at the Hampton Inn in Hartwell. The person at the front desk highly recommended this place, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the following: A kids corn dog plate with fries American burger with fries Fish dinner with fries Chicken Philly with fries Hamburger steak entree with Cajun roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli Thai salmon with corn and southern green beans Alpine chicken entree with double Cajun potatoes Given the reviews online and from the front desk, we highly anticipated this to all be delicious. Instead, the meals were sub par at best. The item we loved the most? THE FRIES AND POTATOES! They were absolutely delicious! Next best were the Philly and burger. The bread used to make each sandwich was soft and warm, not too greasy and very enjoyable overall. Everything else left something to be desired. The fish was OK, not much to rave about. The salmon was over cooked and the Thai sauce used on it tasted more like a poorly bottled sweet chili sauce. No heat and no seasoning. Neither of the veggie sides were seasoned. The hamburger steak had no gravy or seasoning and was COVERED with onions & mushrooms, to the point where we could've created another entree. Again, the broccoli needed to be seasoned. The Alpine chicken, again, had no seasoning. The Cajun roasted potatoes saved that entree. The biggest takeaway: better seasoning. We travel often and frequent little places like this that aren't chains and rarely are we disappointed. This time, we were. Whenever we're in the area again, we'd definitely give it another try. Especially since this time we put in our order just before they closed so maybe that contributed to the condition of the food. And, the owner was pleasant! So with that, we'd be willing to try again.

I had their mushroom Swiss burger and fries. The best burger I have ever had. Everything on it was fresh. The flavor was amazing. The fries were made fresh with the perfect amount of crisp. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a great meal

The cod and garlic mash potatoes were wonderful. Best in the area by far. Generous on the cod, would have liked more mashed potatoes. It would be helpful to have prices on all sides and be able to order more if one wants as some may not want the fries with that. Was disappointed they forgot the tarter sauce. But will be back for sure!
