Food is consistently delicious. The risotto is always prepared creamy, not mushy, with interesting combinations. Salads are the best with the freshest tomatoes, even in winter. When you add your favorite protein, salmon my choice, it's an incredibly filling healthy meal. That's the thing about the food at bin228, you eat great food, normal portions and you leave feeling satisfied, not sluggish and over stuffed. Everything is prepared fresh and made in the kitchen by chefs who love what they do aiming to please their guests. The atmosphere is urban hip, with cool background music, and staff ready to suggest or help with the extensive and impressive wine list.
Truly the best place ever! Amazing menu! Great wine and spectacular service! I have never been disappointed!
Extensive wine selection and impressive variety of small plates and paninis. Ambiance is calm and reflective. The venue is small without feeling claustrophobic; instead you feel welcome and cozy. Our server, Todd, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in choosing wines. He made our experience truly enjoyable.
Love this cozy little wine bar. Went there before a show at the Hartford stage. Good service and the food was delicious. I got the chicken avocado panini. They usually serve it with a pasta salad side but they swapped that out for side salad for free on request. The wine options are good too. The waiter graciously let me try a couple before I landed on one. I will definitely be back!
Small but comfortable setting. Excellent selection of wines and sharable plates. The chicken pesto panini left me wanting, but the meat plate and cheese plate were great as were the meatballs. Nice place for a date night dinner.
This place is awesome! This is a fun place to meet friends and make new ones. The beer is the best in here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. These people make beer because they love beer not because they love money. The tasting room is beautiful. This is a place worth your money and time.
Good food with a lovely atmosphere. The walk in is a little weird (darkish hallway next to the restaurant that has a door into the middle of the restaurant instead of walking through the front door) but the art and the cushion lined bench stretching from one side if the restaurant to the bar area was comfortable and fun. Definitely recommend
First time visiting Hartford and I was looking for a good place to grab dinner. I found that the bin 228 was not far and had great reviews. I walked in and the layout was a little strange at first but once greeted and seated I felt very comfortable. Servers were awesome, very kind, and respectful. I ordered a soda and the steak panini and it was surprisingly filling... great flavor. I finished my meal with a cappuccino, which I rarely drink and that was pretty good too. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone in the area. The bill wasn't too bad either, about $15, which in my opinion was very reasonable for the food and service that I got.
Small but trendy and cozy place for a glass of wine, beer and some small bites to eat. Stopped with my cousins who were staying at the Goodwin in Hartford (wine bar accessible from the lobby). We shared a bunch of appetizers and wine while catching up for a few hours. Wait staff was excellent.
