TEXAS THEMED TREASURE!! My new spot! The Republic has recently been bought and has been beautifully renovated under new ownership. It is a great, if not the best, place to go for drinks, food, and lively atmosphere! A good place to get together with friends or girls nights for the ladies.. when I was there at one point, there were more women than men.. This place has an active calendar with events planned and specials weekly. They have a great menu to keep patrons happy from cheese steak sandwiches to French Toast. Along with a unique Texas themed drink menu that features Texas made spirits, they also have an array of popular spirits, brews (on tap and bottled), and even wine! The owner was very nice and engaged everyone in a friendly Texas way, and his supporting staff is also great to include an entertaining dj! There is a dedicated smoking area on the back patio, which is amazing for us non smokers, and honestly, that is one of the best things that sets this place apart. Where as the other bars nearby will make you smell like an ash tray in three seconds flat upon entering, which is a personal deal breaker. Also: Karaoke, pool tables, 21 and over, plenty of seating, and a very nice ladies room... as I've been told :)
