Went on a Saturday morning in August and it was a super cute place. The front attendant was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered some quiches that were fluffy and gluten free to boot. We ate into then right away so no photos. The Swedish pancakes were like thicker crepes. The best part was the lingonberry jam.
I don't think it's possible to go to Michigan without going to Harbert Swedish Bakery. They have the all-time best baked goods. I love their croissants and my husband loves the sticky buns. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with anything. They also have the best service. The people behind the counter are so nice. It's one of our favorite Michigan must-dos!
Stopped here while on a road trip with family and was amazed with how wonderfully delicious the food was. The quiche was creamy, fluffy, gluten-free, and some of the best I've ever had! Baked goods are also amazing and very difficult to choose from all the options. Highly recommend this spot!
Such a cute place to grab delicious treats! Everyone was incredible kind and the pastries and donuts we got were quite good! It was pretty busy when we arrived but the line moved quickly. They even had a little baked good dumbwaiter. So. Cute. Would definitely go back the next time I am in town!
Welcoming bakery and cafe with a young Nordic vibe, a number of interesting nooks, crannies and wall decor for the eyes to wonder around and never get bored. We sat in a cozy sunroom with plenty of light and a nice view for brunch. The cheesy creamy crustless quiche and the Swedish wafer with maple syrup and lingonberry jam were delicious. Good coffee. Excellent service.
The breakfast menu is much more limited than the one posted here on Google. They have no eggs or omelets, just pancakes served in plastic containers and crustless Quiche. However, the food was really yummy, the coffee was good, and the space sunny and nice.
We got an apple fritter, a blue berry muffin, an elephant ear, a cinnamon danish, and an almond rooster. The apple fritter and almond rooster were amazing. The rest of the pastries were just ok, but likely not their specialty. Would love to try more, and update the review accordingly.
A favorite stop when we're in the area. Can be busy and hard to view the display case in summer but still worth the stop. More time to look in the winter. We tried a variety of pastries and they were all delicious! The blueberry scone and apple-custard filled leaf-shaped pastry were my favorites! Probably going to stop again on the way out of town!
Luisa’s Cafe has THE best breakfast in the area. We went in today with my hubby and there’s a special for Santa Lucia. I had my favorite that is the Waffle Sandwich (GF by the way) and to go along with that we had the special seasonal Limpa French Toast (totally delicioso! The blend in between the anise taste from the bread and real maple syrup is fantastic). Hubby had the Swedish Meetballs with Hasselback potatoes and house salad. Not only the food at the cafe is amazing, right attached to it, is the traditional Harbert Swedish Bakery where they serve all kinds of special lattes and have a wide variety of bake goods. We could not walk out the door without a Grandma’s Cookie and a Lemon Blueberry Scone (also GF).
Delicious thin crust wood oven baked pizza. Made to order and tasted fantastic!! Flavorful and ate outdoors at a picnic table for a late lunch. Highly recommend. You can call ahead to place order. Located in the lovely backyard of the bakery.
