I had the honor of checking out Hamburg Brewing’s first brunch offering. I was lucky because the weather was perfect and an unlikely surprise for early November in Buffalo. It was a glorious day to sit out and enjoy the gorgeous patio there.
They had a tight menu which still covered a little bit of everything. I tried the brunchuterie. French toast crostini, cheese, breakfast sausage and breakfast spreads. A very clever play on charcuterie and pretty good. The plate was made mostly of French toast not a ton of cheese and meat.
They do offer gluten free bread, which is great. However they are not able to make many other substitutions or even eliminate things from a menu item. I am not complaining but it’s important to note for people who are picky or have dietary restrictions. For example the it wasn’t possible to omit the egg from the smashed avocado toast or use GF bread for brunchuterie.
Brunch is served like the rest of their food. You go up to the bar and order. Your food is brought out to you when it’s ready.
In addition to their standard beer and wine they also were serving mimosas and bloody Mary’s.
A great new offering from a wonderful local venue. I’d recommend you come and check it out!
Great place to have one 2 3 beers. Food menu focused on meat and beer culture (pretzel, hamburger, etc). Great flavor, light lagers, similar to a pilsner to heavy IPAs, pinot grigio is not dry, only the Chardonnay (unoaked). Slightly pricey, great location and beautiful view.
Girlfriend and I thought “beer and pretzel sounds great” so we stopped by on Sunday! Great place with a great view outside! Had live music that was great (not overbearing that you can’t hear anything else).
Only issue we had was there was no pretzel (our fault for not checking)! Their Brunch menu ends at 2 and we got there around 1. Only suggestion I would have would be to add a few more shareable items to the brunch menu. The menu looked great but we didn’t feel like sharing a breakfast pizza with a couple sours on a sunny 80 degree day while sitting outside. I fully understand the staffing issues that are occurring everywhere, but a plate of nachos or a pretzel would be great to see on the brunch menu!
Will be back!
Cheers!
More of a 3.5. The food is good, service is good, and people were friendly. The only issue is the beer quality. There isn't a bad beer in the place but there's nothing that sets them apart from the other area breweries. The location itself is gorgeous nestled in Hamburg. Worth a visit for sure though.
Cool little spot and lots of good beer options. Service was friendly.
Enjoyed the outdoor seating and view, made for a perfect summer day. Had the prosciutto and goat cheese sandwich and raspberry lemon kolsch, no complaints. Had live musician playing on a Sunday afternoon
If you like quality product with a clean and clever presentation, this is the place for you. Knowing this is a family owned, hands-on business makes it even easier to throw back a couple of these smooth, delicious beers in an incredibly beautiful setting. can't wait to go back!
