I really enjoyed my dinning experience at the Chit Chat Diner. I ordered tons of food. I had my very first french onion soup...ordered empandas (which were delicious), also got a philly cheesesteak sandwich...nachos...and skirtsteak with mash potatoes and sauted spinach. Each meal was well executed and absolutely delicious. Plus, I have a super sensitive tummy and didn't experience any stomach issues so I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be returning again.
The waiter was really awesome. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our dining experience. He checked in on us regularly but not too frequently as to where it could be disrupting to our discussion. Also, he listened. He didn't promise to deliver anything he was unsure of, but when he learned that my friend wanted crushed oreos in his strawberry milkshake, he delivered it even though its not something they typically offer.
This use to be the place I would host business meetings (prior to the pandemic) and I never really ordered much other than something small like a sandwich and a drink (which reminds me, their complimentary olive bread is off the chain! Soooo good). Since I was in the area with a former colleague, we decided to go to the chit chat diner (on a walking down memory lane type of vibe) and ordered a ton of different types of meals and just over endulged and enjoyed every bite.
For as busy as they were, we got great service. The food was done fast, was exactly what I ordered and tasted great.
There isn’t much to be done about the parking lot, short of tearing down Dunkin’ Donuts, but that was really my only issue.
The place is clean, the staff is great and the food is good. What more could I ask for?

This food was absolutely perfect and so the service. We went there at 330. There was a very short wait. We didn't have to wait ling for some one to come take our other. There were 5 of us. We did not have to wait too long for our door either. We order sweet potatoes and short ribs meat with melted cheese on top. My mouth water just thinking about it. The burger were perfectly cook to temperature. Medium just as I asked. THE fries were tosty on the out side and juicy in the inside. Búfalo wings were average maybe a little dry but not bad. The turkey BLT look so beautiful in the plate.great presentation.
They alcohol until I think 1am. It is wheelchair accessible. good amount of parking. It open 24 hrs. And at that time it wasn't too busy. The total came to 130 for 5 of us.
My manager and I decided to grab lunch at this location. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. The parking lot is fairly small fyi. I walked in and was greeted and sat by the manager. We were served by Caterina and she was cool. We started with drinks and my manager got an uptown and I got homemade lemonade and it was very tasty. For my meal I got the vegetable stir fry. They don't have this on the menu but I got the chicken teriyaki rice without the chicken. It was very tasty. My manger got the steak and eggs and he liked his meal. The meal I had came with a soup and it was butternut squash soup, and while I was skeptical I was pleased because it was pretty good. We both had a good experience.
One of the best diners in NJ. We have been coming here for many years. Ginormous portions, excellent quality; super nice and friendly staff.
P.S Ask for MO when you order cakes; he will get you a mighty big slice :)
Great place to stop in for some breakfast/lunch. We came on a weekday and it was still pretty busy. Got the short rib hash & egg, the Godfather omelette, and Smore's french toast. Generous portions, hot, and tasty!
