Tried this place for the first time this evening and it was such a great choice. I got the blackened snapper with loaded baked potato. Fish was moist and flavorful. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Food was great, service was great and the views from the patio were remarkable. Definitely recommend and will be returning.
The food is decent here, but the real draw of this restaurant is the location and view of the lake. It's a gorgeous area. The staff is friendly and the building is well maintained and clean. Menu items are overpriced but it's an inland seafood restaurant so pretty much par for the course.
The food and atmosphere at Wintzell’s was great! We loved having a view of the lake from our table. I tried the bacon wrapped scallops, and I thought they were great! They were cooked perfectly and had a ton of flavor. I couldn’t pass up on the key like pie, which was delicious as well.
I miss the one that was in Huntsville so I took my mom to the one in Guntersville which is about 1 hour away. It's a really nice location. We sat in the deck area over looking the water. The food was really good. Since I hadn't had Wintzell's in over 3 years I wanted to get everything I haven't had in that time. I ordered the seafood chowder, oysters , JO platter, fried string beans, and beers to wash it all down. It was ALL 👍 GOOD. I didn't get a pic of the soup but it was delicious as well.
Service was excellent at lunch. Ordered shrimp basket with baked potato loaded and it was nice and hot not overcooked. Shrimp was lightly breaded just a slight bit overcooked. Wife had fish basket with fried okra both were very good. Hush puppies were very well done and since they are on the small side they were quite hard. Only issue for me was the cost. I don't have a problem paying more for a great meal this one however was just good.
If you're an Oyster Lover like me Wintzell's is a Must! Great Food and Service!
I cant complain too much about this place. Obviously, if you're in the mood for some oysters, they have you covered. The other dishes aren't too shabby either. We must have went on an unusually busy Saturday night, or they were understaffed/ had newer staff. Kind of all over the place (and a lot of younger people working). Cut them some slack in that department and everything is good. Food was fine, our server was hospitable, and the oysters were good. We will be back I'm sure.
