No waitresses at all. We ordered at the kiosk, which is pretty simple (unless you want to use cash). The people in the kitchen were fast, but every table was dirty. When asked about a clean table, they said someone will get to it eventually. The chili 5 way comes in a to go container no matter what. The portions are way smaller than they were before. The cooks did a great job, but food portions, and restaurant cleanliness aren't worth the money. Don't see them lasting much longer.

I love Steak n Shake and this one is no different. The service has gotten a lot better since it opened back up from Covid. In the past you better have had an hour to kill if you wanted just a drink but now it's up to par.

They've opened the dining room up for fast casual style self service. They kept it simple and did it right. Good job guys! We ordered with the kiosk, got our food at the pickup counter, ate, cleaned up after ourselves and left 🍔🔥

The app ordering is very convenient only to be ruined by the bad service. They missed things in my order. I called and was told the only thing they can do is write my name down on a post it note that they will keep in the office so that I can get missing items when I come back. I'll never come back so I guess I just paid for something I'll never get. Also, there are dining room open signs up all around the building but doors are locked. I've tried to eat in the restaurant twice now at 2 different locations only to find out that they are actually closed. Since you place your own order on the kiosk, seat yourself, fill your own drink and clean up after yourself why can't you eat in the dining room... makes no sense. Like the food and the price but hate the service.

Steak n shake is WAY different than what it used to be! At this particular - be prepared to walk right in and go to kiosk to order and pay for your food. Take the receipt that prints out, it has a number on it. You then help yourself to your own drink while waiting for your number to be called. No servers at all, so no tips and you'll clean up your mess when finished. Wasn't expecting such a change!!!! It was different!

Terrible customer service. We went there to eat and we’re told the dining room was closed because of a staffing shortage. 3 employees were working. We decided to eat somewhere else then returned 45 minutes later in the drive thru to order a shake for our daughter. At this time, we were told 30-45 minutes wait for a shake because of all the cars in the drive thru (there was 1) and the dining room was open (there were 2 guests in the restaurant). 45 minutes prior they not only turned away us but another family of 3. Ironically they didn’t have anymore employees working. Ridiculous!

I'm sure it is due to Covid (cough cough) but what the heck has happened to this place? Not a sit down and get served place anymore. Let's all touch the filthy screens that everyone else touches to stay safe. Happy hour shakes are still good though.

Ordered a chili mac supreme and cheese fry. The chili mac did not have any sauce in it and the noodles were old and mushy. I did not receive any cheese for the fries. This is my second experience in a row with poor food quality/not getting everything i ordered. I will never be back!!
