Butcher's Block

First of all, the sweet hostess has incredible work ethic. She was answering phones, taking take-out orders, seating customers, calling customers to let them know their table was ready, taking payments, and bussing tables. AND she did it all with a happy and upbeat attitude. As for the food, BEST steak I’ve ever had in my life. No joke. I got the Texas Tails and they were literally melting in my mouth. I’ve lived in Greeneville for 2 years now since getting married and I’m mad at my husband for not telling me about this place sooner lol. The prices are fair. You get a big Ball jar for your beverage so you never run out of your drink. I received my salad about 2 minutes after ordering. My other side was a baked potato and it was delicious. This is a hole in the wall, no frills type place, but it was the most satisfying meal I’ve had in months. They are doing it right here. I wish I had better photos, but I started eating before I remembered to take one.

This place doesn't have a lot of options as far as food goes. My husband and I both got salads as our sides, and something on the salads were extremely salty. Too salty to the point I couldn't finish mine, and the lettuce on my salad was half wilted. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, but the taste is very bland in my opinion. My favorite part of my meal was my baked potato. Don't believe I will be going back again.

Expectations were high and not met. Service was good (not great), the atmosphere was good (got great), and the food was good, but not what I ordered! I was charged for bacon wrapped filet but what was served was indistinguishable from my partners Texas Tails. The 1st clue was thin and no bacon! The server could not convincingly explain, "would you like me to get you some bacon?" Umm... no. When you're paying for nice you should get nice.

Got there before they open. We were seated immediately and placed our order for 6 guest. By the time we finished ordering they had ran out of filets. We had driven an hour to get there. The steak we got were ok. We also ordered 2 meals to go. We spent over $380.00 for 8 meals (with tip). It was not worth the price. We will not be back.
