We hadn't been to The Settlement for years. The opportunity came up to go there. The food is excellent. Good portion sizes.
My granddaughter ordered fries and the waitress asked if we wanted to split the order between us. I said yes. My granddaughter was confused. When the food arrived she saw how many fries were there and agreed that it was a large amount. Think basket full.
By the way, Friday night has fish fry. You think a single order would be enough definitely. If you order double or triple order you're either taking it home or you planned on sharing it.
Overall, I was impressed yet again. This place has been in business for decades. There is a reason for it. The food was good then. Forty years after first experiencing The Settlement, the food is still great.

Stopped in on a Friday night. Which is fish fry night. I’ve been there several times but never on a Friday night. Fridays are completely different for dining. We attempted to go to a table to sit and order our food. We were told in a very rude way that you can’t just go sit at a table on Friday night. They have some weird number system that they use for that specific night but the rude sweaty bartender couldn’t be bothered to explain how it worked. So as others entered, they got numbers and ordered their food before us. I said something to the bartender about how I thought it was weird and she said something like “we’ve been doing it like “this” for 42 years”. Nothing like making you feel unwelcome with her rudeness. 🙄 The funny thing about the whole experience is that when our food was finally ready, we were taken to the same table we attempted to sit at when we first arrived. The food is good and the portions are huge but the extremely rude bartender ruined my experience. It’ll be a long while before I go back and I live just down the street.

Got the combo platter and it was all worth it! The staff was nice and the food was worth every penny. Will definitely be back!

The food was good. But we felt like we were inconvenienceing them. They were very gruff with us throughout our visit. We had 6 people at our table and there were hardly anyone else in there. It took 10 minutes to get someone to come over to take our orders. One of the ladies was not even helping and was sitting at the bar while I was looking for help. She saw me searching for someone but did not volunteer. Overall, not a good experience.

I suppose that judging a place on one meal is not fair but I will share my experience. Two steak-ems on a hamburger bun does not make a philly cheese steak. It was more like a philly cheap steak. I will add people were polite and nice.

Used to be a semi regular stop & unfortunately can't get there like I used to. The food is still very good there. Still unable to finish all the cheese curds they give you.
