The only reason I didn't write this review sooner is because I wanted to keep this local gem somewhat of a secret. You can find me at Rio at least once a week. The menu is packed with amazing Latin dishes, American classics, and my favorite, a bunch of incredible breakfast items. Great for a big group who want a varied menu, they often also have an expansive list of creative and fun specials. The house made hot sauce is so good you'll be tempted to slip it into your pocket. Legit - if you are an eggs Benedict fan, the scratch hollandaise will make you weep. Beautiful outdoor seating, family and dog friendly. The service is excellent and the staff are sweethearts. Ticket times can be a bit of a wait on busier days, but chat with the people you're with, the wait will be worth it.
Revision: next visit, not busy, sat and sat finally got a menu. Then sat and sat without anyone taking my order. Left hungry and annoyed. Rio Cafe is a great breakfast and lunch joint. Upscale food at very friendly prices. You will not go hungry, that's for sure. Most menu items are creative, way above average versions of familiar American classics plus few way above average Mexican-influenced items. Chorizo hash with eggs and hollandaise, home fries and toast? Soo good! Many other types of homemade hash. Home fries are correct from the griddle, not deep fried like some other places. I had a latte which was meh, but the food is so good I didn't care. I was stuffed stupid. There are so many menu items I hope I can try some day. I'm not into fruit smoothies but if you are, there were happy smoothie customers and an extensive smoothie menu. Atmosphere is bustling, cozy and comforting. Friendly and fast service. Good capacity indoors and plenty more outdoors at picnic tables. Very clean. Easy parking. Hotels and a dispensary less than 1 minute away. Just a few minutes away from the crowded and chaotic Main St. area.
It is a really great place! Delicious food, great coffee, and beautiful outdoor sitting area!
