Being locals, we have enjoyed the River's Edge over the years, and were so happy when the new owners brought it back. Great place, nice servers, excellent view of the River, and wonderful food!
We loved it. Thanks for the suggestion Weasku Inn-- to go to the River's Edge. We loved it so much we went back the next night. The scallops were great-- not overcooked. Asked for more asparagus-- sure, no problem. Hot and fresh-- delicious. The salad with salmon and dried corn was different, fresh and excellent in taste and presentation. Next night also very good with seared tuna salad--Not overcooked and fresh. Excellent service. Enjoyed the atmosphere in restaurant. Very comfortable. Hot bread-- very good and with BUTTER-- thank you. Good beer selections, too. If we lived near this place we'd be in there every week. Seriously.
A River runs through it!. By Steven Masone
On the beautiful Rogue River, for those who love Pacific Cuisine at it's best...River's Edge will not disappoint you. As soon as you enter the foyer, the decor and art immediately reminds one of A River Runs Through it.
I ordered the Asparagus Tenderloin, a marinated grilled filet with Parmesan asparagus, poached egg & citrus butter sauce.
The fillet was delicious and the asparagus was perfect. The sauce was promisingly complex and savory.
The menu is inventive and enticing. Just enough selection so there is a great variety and your indecisiveness does not raise it's confusing head. However, deciding between their homemade Bread Pudding with raspberry liqueur soaked craisins and white chocolate and a whisky butter sauce or the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee wasn't easy either. The Creme Brulee won, and is fantastic!
The service was great and my server very pleasant and knowledgeable.
Four Stars! And you know...On The Road Again has never given five. But stay tuned...New York is a destination this summer. http://www.deltanewsandreview.com/
Being from out of town, I was looking for a romantic place for a sit down dinner and I found it! Great food and even better atmosphere. I recommend sitting on the patio for an amazing dinner by the river!
Best steaks. Amazing seafood. Even better desserts. Favorite upscale restaurant in Grants Pass.
Beautiful location right by the Rouge River. Great selections on the menu, a decent wine list and very generous portions. GF choices available. Excellent wait staff. Dined here twice during a recent trip through the Pacific Northwest. Reserve a patio table to enhance your dining experience.
I was skeptical at first, being in the middle of a small town in Oregon. The restaurant delivered on its menu's promised however. The ingredients we're fresh and locally sourced; this was evident in the flavor and quality. The prices were consistent with restaurants in this range, $28-$35 steaks and quality seafood. The wine selection is definitively better than others in the area. The desserts were fresh and authentic and the coffee and espresso divine. The outdoor seating on the Rogue river is peaceful and serene. You should certainly make a reservation if you're passing through the area.
Great place with great food, a first class bar, great service and a great riverfront location. It is a bit spendy but worth it. Just look at some of the pictures. Great dinning inside and outside with a nice lounge and banquet rooms.
Went there for steaks but it was lunch and they weren't available yet.
We asked the waiter about it and he went and got the Chef to make us two New York cuts that were just as awesome as the outdoor scenery and ambience.
I highly recommend this place for great food and excellent service.
Great place to impress a date. I havent had a bad dish here. The seafood and the steaks are perfectly cooked with tons of flavor. The deck has a beautiful view of the river. All of the staff are kind and welcoming.
We are visiting from CA. Absolutely excellent Tillamook cheese bacon burgers, perfectly seasoned fries, great service from Dustin W!! Spectacular Rogue River view and sounds of the rapids. Lots of parking. Dog friendly river view deck. 5 minutes from historic downtown Grants Pass OR. We will return!
My wife and I were spending a couple of days in the area and looking for a nice place for dinner. This place totally exceeded our expectations. Starting with the atmosphere, we sat on the deck looking over the Rouge River, it got a bit chili so they brought over a heater. The food was excellent. My wife had the chicken cordon Bleu and I had the seafood fettuccine, seafood in every bite. Both were delicious and the portions were large. So much food that we had to skip the creme Brule. If I'm ever in the area again, this will be my lunch or dinner spot. Highly recommend.
