Went for the first time before seeing a movie and we were very happy with everything. Service was great and the food was excellent. The menu is fantastic and had lots of items. I appreciated this, since so many restaurants lately think it’s trendy to have a small menu.

We celebrated our son’s birthday here and Trevor was our server! We celebrated his 40th birthday and today his 42nd birthday! The seating was phenomenal and the atmosphere was upbeat and comfortable! We laughed and talked and had the best gathering with a server that was super attentive and kind! The food was so delicious and flavorful and beautifully plated and presented! Definitely a great meal! We even had someone with food allergies and his meal was incredible!

Got takeout so keep that in mind. Had to wait extra for a dish to be remade , but the fish was great. Found the apps to be maybe the best party of the meal. Rolls were a little heavy on the rice.

Food is always good. About the same price point as an Olive Garden, but the food is much higher quality and it's actually cooked, not microwaved. The beer selection leaves more to be desired, but there are plenty of sake and wine options. Service is professional and prompt, the atmosphere is inviting and thematic, and I haven't had anything on the menu that I did not like. Miso soup a little watery, only food-related complaint.

Jaku is the best sushi in Grand Rapids. The sashimi is the best you will find this side of the state.
The Japanese/Korean menu has something for everyone and for every craving.

I consider myself a sushi connoisseur of sorts. Most sushi restaurants don't stick out to me but Jaku does it right. The "Mayberry" roll is probably one of, if not THE best roll I've ever had.
