I have been a frequent customer since about 2017. It just occurred to me to finally leave a review at the risk of having more of my favorite meat be sold out by the end of the day. After trying DOZENS of BBQ in the state, I can say with confidence that Daddy Pete's is the best in the region, if not state. You will not find better food, service, or value for your money at any other place within 3 hours of driving to this amazing business. I have tried every item on the menu and you cant go wrong with any selection!
I went to an event catered by Daddy Pete's BBQ. The food was out of this world. There was a huge selection there and not one dish was bad. The quality of the meat was the first thing I found great. The pulled pork was tender, perfectly cooked and sauced. The chicken wings actually had a great BBQ flavor, was juicy and isn't full of veins. Just completely meat!! I loved that their sauce is thick so it sticks and nothing left a greasy residue on my hands after holding it. They had a crisp outer layer and weren't mushy like baked or boiled. All of it had a true BBQ taste cooked into the meat itself. This is not your typical BBQ joint. Clearly they believe BBQ is the flavor in the food itself, that BBQ doesn't mean it's BBQ because you put sauce on it!!!! You can tell whoever started this restaurant took pride in the development and made sure it was what they would want and enjoy.
We had Daddy pete's catering for Thanksgiving. It was phenomenal. Flavorful the smoke flavor was in every bite. Turkey, Chicken, and ham. We had mac and cheese, greens, cornbread dressing, candied yams and peach cobbler for dessert. Everything was delicious! The customer service was good as well. We ordered for Christmas too.
Overall good experience. The food was mostly good. The sides were phenomenal. One minor gripe (and it's not big enough to keep us from returning) was we were the only customers there yet we still waiting 25 minutes for food. Low and slow bbq has been ready. But at the end of the day we'll be returning and we've been spreading the word. Thank you
Listen, this is by far the best bbq I’ve had EVER.
My husband and I shared the dinner for 2 and had pulled pork, ribs, beef brisket , Mac and cheese, baked beans, and cornbread. 10/10 is an understatement. Great establishment, the staff is extremely friendly and the owner explained by every detail of the place to us. I would recommend this place to everyone I know, go check it out you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

1st time and LOVE IT!!! Those ribs are heaven fall off the bone the best ribs I have had in GR in a very Long time!! I will be back. The staff is GREAT TOO!! THANK YOU GUYS!!!!
Came for the vegan options. Was NOT disappointed. I had the vegan hot mess with Jackfruit. This place is great! Wife had the ribs, and ate them all in the parking lot. This place is Legit.
This place has some great BBQ. The owners are friendly and engaging. It was a pleasure getting dinner here.
Those with mobility issues should plan on getting take-out. The dining area is not very big, and the table and counters are too high for anyone in a wheelchair or walker.
That said, if you are visiting the Grand Rapids area, escape the same old thing and experience this great local place.
I’m not much of a meat eater but if Daddy Pete’s is on the menu you better believe I’m getting me some brisket. And the Bbq sauce is so damn good I could bathe in it. Cornbread is the best in the game. Mac and cheese is award winning. We are more than happy to spend our time and money here. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t regret it. And the staff is awesome!
