The best ice cream, hands down, in Grand Rapids. With creative flavors, Love's Ice Cream is a must if you are visiting Grand Rapids. We decided to pass on a traditional wedding cake and had Love's cater our wedding dessert. They let us pick out four flavors and brought the ice cream in a wonderful cart. Our guests raved about the ice cream and we continue to take family and friends visiting Grand Rapids to the Downtown Market for ice cream.
Love's ice cream is the bomb! Our family has a dairy sensitivity, but love ice cream so much... Love's vegan options have REPLACED regular ice cream in our house! The Madcap coffee, Coconut chip and Blueberry Lavender are our top 3 must haves! Always have Love's stocked in our freezer at home

Took a drive to get to this place today…located inside the busy Grand Rapids Market downtown, the area was very congested and busy. I got 2 pints of ice cream to go. I tried one of the flavors and it is delicious. It is pricey, but you definitely can taste and understand why, it’s very decadent and not your grocery store stuff. They have a large freezer upfront with all the different “pints to go” flavors. Bring dry ice—if you are not local and have to travel longer before it can be stored in a freezer again. My only disappointment was the help at the counter, they were not friendly and just wanted me to go away as quickly as possible it seemed.
Flights of ice cream! What a great idea! Everything was great, 6 flavors of non dairy Gelato. About 14 flavors of regular ice cream. Great place to eat ice cream and people watch. Will be returning!
I have been here a few times. Most recently, the cashier/store worker was polite, let me sample a flavor, explained anything I had a question about or was unsure of, and did not push or rush me. I had the Caramel Cookie Crunch (I think that's what it is called) ice cream and it was so good! It had all the flavors I love and was very creamy. Their chocolate chip cookie was acceptable as well, plenty of chocolate which I will never complain about, but for me, lacking in the dough/cookie flavor. It did have a pleasant crispy yet soft texture. Overall, a definite crowd pleaser and a cute shop! It is really nice to have a spot on the lower level of the Market to sit and eat your treats!
We had Love's provide ice cream and cookies for our September 2022 wedding at Downtown Market and they were amazing to work with! First, the ice cream and cookies were delicious and we received so many compliments from guests. The staff working the event was friendly and Laura was excellent with communication leading up to the event. We are so happy we chose Love's and it is one of our favorite parts of the wedding! Thank you so much.
Delicious selection of ice cream flavors, with a healthy offering of gluten free/vegan options: definitely recommend the super person flavor, it's a fun take on the classic superman.
Their chocolates are also spectacular. They are a little expensive, but the quality very much matches the cost.
Love's ice cream is an excellent place to get a little treat. The ice cream was incredible. I asked where they sourced their ice cream and was told that is is made by the store's own workers behind the back wall. The ice cream is a testament to the skill and dedication of the people who work there.

Each flavor tastes so pure and true...what it was meant to be. They have done a fantastic job, and it’s the only kind of ice cream I crave! Also, the VEGAN GELATO will change your life! I’m not a vegan, I just love delicious ice cream, and these coconut cream based gelatos are AMAZING. The nice part about it, is that you don’t need a whole lot, because they don’t whip as much air into the ice cream as the “other guys,” so it’s a much denser, more filling ice cream. A is just plenty for me, and a whole scoop is a treat! Their waffle bowls are delicious as well!
They also have a WIDE selection of chocolates & other treats, and they offer gift cards. Really fabulous vegan and non-vegan chocolate. We’ve received gift cards here for birthday presents. Great gift idea!

I can’t speak for their dairy options but the vegan strawberry gelato was so good! I’m not vegan but lactose intolerant so sometimes I’ll go for the nondairy route if it’s good enough. They provided samples which was great if you’re indecisive like me.
Alot of times nondairy frozen desserts have a strong aftertaste of the base that is used (like almond/coconut/cashew etc. milk) but this didn’t have that or it was hard to notice. It was nice and fruity, not too sweet, and had a great consistency like ice cream. They also had many options if you didn’t want just ice cream including alcoholic floats and milkshakes. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
