My dear friend took me on a date here for my Birthday. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The dishes were like an art, perfectly set up and unique pairings. We went with several appetizers and shared a pasta dish, a dessert and we both had a drink. We were definitely satisfied with the portions; they weren't huge by any means but they were decent enough. The downsides were 1. We sat outdoors and the service was incredibly slow. I'm talking, it took over 2.5 hours start to finish, and it wasn't because we were indecisive. The other downside (which totally wasn't their fault) was a young family sat directly next to us with 2 young children, and one of them would randomly shriek scream. I'm a mother of 2 young children and I absolutely believe children are welcome in public. It was just very loud and would catch us off guard. Spending nearly $200 on a nice dinner, you want to be able to fully enjoy it!

Everything was beautiful and the ingredients top notch. The flavors were also excellent! Only thing I would have liked to be better is had the sauce stuck more to the gnocchi, the sauce had a great flavor but just kind of ran off it so it took bread to get that great flavor.

Highly recommend. Every single dish that our tabled ordered was amazing. Our server, Chris, gave great recommendations and outstanding service. The patio is also nice and has a canopy so you don’t have to be in direct sunlight.

I came in after working late, just a few minutes before close for their (reverse) happy hour. I had one of the best burgers I have had in a long time anywhere, served with twice passed fries so good they would make a Belgian chef proud, and a great creative cocktail. Best of all, the service was excellent, despite my late arrival, and extremely accommodating. I'll be back with the crew for a proper full meal soon, and we are getting things started with that killer charcuterie board.

This is the best food I have ever had hands down. Our waiter was incredible and the ambiance was fun. But the food: wow. My father and sister both had steak and they can’t stop talking about how it’s the best they’ve ever had. My mom and I shared a salad and the mushroom tagliatelle which was to die for. We all shared the carrot steak and a cheese board, which I can’t even begin to describe. Thank you to the staff and chef who made my mom’s birthday special and memorable!

Enjoyed our visit to Reserve tonight on Valentine's Day.
The food was excellent. The duck was one of the better renditions we've had. The carved sirloin was perfectly cooked, and the sauce that came with it was amazing.
The atmosphere and cleanliness is top notch.
The cocktails were just ok, but that's not too surprising since Reserve's focus is wine.
The service is very relaxed, so prepare to spend some time here.

Thank you to our serve for the outstanding service up at the bar! He made an amazing suggestion to get the Pork Chop! It is unlike anything you can get in Grand Rapids. It is caramelized on the outside, sprinkled with cheesy bites, and laid on a bed of delicious grits. Along side it also has pickled apples which are surprisingly one of the best parts.
We also got a burger that is on special every Tuesday and it was very good and affordable.
FYI I’m a pretty sure the Reserve has every wine bottle you can think of lol

Our experience at The Reserve was worth every penny. While staying in Grand Rapids for the night visiting from Chicago we were treated to outstanding service from our server Alyssa. She had so much sophisticated knowledge and passion for everything on the menu. The charcuterie was the best I’ve had options we cannot find in Chicago. Also the wine selection can’t be beat. Every course didn’t miss a beat. Would love to return and make a special trip for a special night here. Thanks Alyssa and reserve team!

The place is nice, elegant, chic. The food is an accompaniment to the broad wine list, which includes wines from all over the world. The use local ingredients so a lot of the dishes change according to the season. Their charcuterie is beautiful, inviting and has multiple options. I just go for the cheese because I like the mix of cheeses and sweet wines. The ambience here is everything. The wines are the highlight of the place as you can get everything else at other restaurants. Not a place I crave for but it is a place for a special occasion. You wont leave without spending at least $100 per person if you have a meal, and more than one glass of wine.

I’m not even sure where to start? This is an amazing restaurant! Everything from start to finish was top notch. The wait staff was friendly and helpful with our experience. The location is not good for me as I live 250 miles away, but it is probably great for anyone who happens to live nearby. If I lived nearby I would love to go at least daily! The food is unbelievable. Of course we shared around the 4 entrees and every bite of every dish was mind blowing yummy goodness. My truffle burger was the best burger I have ever had! I can’t say enough good things about this place, you have to try it to understand!!!!!

Incredible selection of wine. Service is above and beyond. Food selection is excellent! Dry aged bone in ribeye, calamari, and even chips and dip with caviar! This will be a special place for a dinner date!

Comfortable date spot downtown that feels unique and updated in its seasonal dishes. I appreciate experiencing a vegan option at a fancier place and felt valued that they asked ahead of time about dietary restrictions and allergies.

Talk about a romantic date night. I wouldnt recommend this if you have kids bc it is expensive. The food was top notch and each wine can be paired to the meal.
The wine will come with a note explaining its details.
I would love to visit once more. Exceptional service from a waiter who obviously memoried the food and drink menu.

The whole night it was a nice, quiet atmosphere. Light, trendy music in the background. Our server was really friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Our food was beyond exceptional and everything was delicious. So food is 5 stars, service was 5 stars, and I’d recommend to anyone looking for a good, high end experience!

We didn't eat here, for we just found it walking along. I give it a high rating because the atmosphere is awesome and I've never seen over 100 wines on tap. However, with that being said, I wish they had more sweet choices. The service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable of the wines. He selected the few sweets that they did have for me very well.

The service was impeccable. The food was extrodenary. The wife and I was very pleasantly surprised. We are not familiar with wine but our waitress and the other staff there was very knowledgeable and could not have made us feel more comfortable with us not being familiar with different tastes. The wife had the steak and I had the duck. Both were excellent. Small portions yes but we did not leave hungry. So just the right amount. I recommend and will recommend this place to everybody to try at least once and let the service, wine and food speak for itself. You will not be disappointed.

Love this place! My husband and I have been here a few times together. We went last night to celebrate our birthdays, and it was perfect!
We have had excellent service each time we have gone. Last night, Kris was our waiter and he was awesome. Very knowledgeable, able to give great suggestions on the wine and food.

Great minus the server who flaked out half way through our meal. Josh apparently felt it was more important to talk with bar staff than serve us, even after several flagging downs. You guys lost out on a plate of pasta and another glass of wine as a result. Disappointing. Won’t be back, too many other good places with consistent service in town. Sad considering how slow the whole place was on a Monday.

A downtown Grand Rapids restaurant with an excellent and fully deserved reputation. Reserve has an inviting dining area decorated with interesting art, including the 2009 ArtPrize winning painting; an attentive and knowledgeable staff; a noteworthy wine and beverage list; and a menu full of surprises and pleasures. We were a party of four, one of whom had mobility issues, that needed to be done at a certain time so we could go to the opera, and they accommodated us well. Highly recommend.

I have enjoyed many glasses of wine at Reserve! My fiancé and I wanted to have a dinner date at Reserve, however he has a casein allergy (as does our breastfeeding baby) so I figured it was best to check in ahead of time and make sure they could accommodate such an allergy. I sent a nice, inquiring message, which was read, but never received a response. I would have completely understood a response of "we can't guarantee....", but to completely ignore a customer really let me down.
