Nick's cafe is a legendary spot, a genuine piece of Colorado history. For over 30 years, Nick's has provided us with the legendary Fool's Gold Sandwich, the favorite sandwich of Elvis Presley. I used to eat lunch here twice a week when I worked nearby. My s/o and I ate there this morning, ordering 2 Fool's Gold sandwiches and a gyro breakfast sandwich, and every moment was worth savoring. Our sandwiches were all delicious and reminded me how much I love Nick, his family, and his restaurant. This Colorado landmark is a must-see for anyone who calls themselves an Elvis fan, or if you just really enjoy a good sandwich. Nick, the owner and inventor of the Fool's Gold sandwich (PB&J w/ Bacon on Sourdough) can be seen here every day, making delicious food that satisfies my appetite and my soul. The history of this restaurant and the unique spirit of its owner are palpable as soon as you walk in. There simply are not many restaurants like this left in Colorado. Their last day of business is 3/9/22, so consider this my send-off note to Nick: I hope you enjoy every minute of retirement, you have earned it, sir. Thanks for the unforgettable memories.

If you love Elvis this is the place to go... memorabilia, news articles, lunch boxes etc for days!!! The photos on the wall were amazing! This place has excellent homemade food with a small town feel in the mountains. We met Nick and his beautiful wife; they were nothing less than kind. Hot coffee brewing, home cooked potatoes with my breakfast and great conversation. Thank you for treating my husband and I on our anniversary so kindly. ❤️❤️

Great bacon and good prices. Really liked the Elvis memorabilia. Could use a good cleaning though.

Was a very great business while it lasted. Was just a shame trying to go one last time like everyone else so it was packed. Nick and his wife showed how stressed they were. They werent their usual friendly selves and just rushing around looking rushed. Everyone that showed up after us got told VERY LOUDLY that it was an hour wait. Then would tell them to go back outside. The menu was limited because of closing soon but literally had 5 things listed on it. What if they waited an hour for something no longer on the menu.... When leaving, my friend leaned over to try to tell Nick goodbye and good luck. She had always eaten and conversated with him for many many years, but he barely acknowledged her or said anything back. All the shouting and what happened with my friend made both our last experience the worst ever. Was a shame.

My dad finally got his bucket list about completed with a visit to Nick's Cafe today. We were all greeted by Nick and his wife Kathleen. We had to try Elvis Presley's fool's gold sandwich. In addition to the sandwich that we all shared we also had Burrito Supremes with chili. Needless to say we were not disappointed. We got to see and share stories that my dad longed for. Thank you for being so kind and understanding with all our photo taking. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences, food and passion. You made our day especially my 84 year old father's. Be blessed

This is such a cool place, the owners Nick and Kathleen offer up delicious food and super friendly service. If you are an Elvis fan or collector this place is a must see. Nick's memories of times spent with Elvis and his family are so interesting and the autographed memorabilia is phenomenal.
Even if your only a modest Elvis fan, like myself, the history and atmosphere along with amazing food is well worth a visit.

Great little diner spot. Stopped in and had the veggie omelet and it was delicious. The whole inside is loaded with Elvis memorabilia which is pretty cool.
The service was really great and they make you feel like family when you come in, I would recommend this place to everyone!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!
I called to place a order before breakfast was over and the rude guy who answered wanted me to call back after 11 when breakfast was over. I wanted breakfast. I don't care your busy. That is your problem. If your not taking phone orders than say that. We are not only hungry when you say we are.
I manage hotels in area. I WONT EVER send a guest back here. Terrible service. As of today we won't promote this place. And all menus will be thrown away. I won't support a business that only cares about themselves. Your making your problem my problem.
Again I will tell everyone how bad the service was and we will send somewhere else where service is great.
Thanks NICK'S Cafe. You lost alot of customers for life.
You should really move to Laguna Beach.
