Hackney's On Harms

Superior food, superior staff! One of the BEST burgers in the Chicagoland area! I had the Onion Cheeseburger, (a burger topped with American Cheese and Onion Rings), cooked to your liking. They serve it with bottomless fries. Always great service here! Never have I had a disappointed experience at Hackney's on Harms. Highly recommend!!

This is always friendly, and spot on service. Delicious burgers, which is what their famous for, in addition to the onion loaf, but honestly there's not a bad thing on their menu. This is the original location, very historical, wonderful place to dine outdoors in the summer. Highly recommend. Plenty of parking.

My wife and I ate here recently. Our server was very nice, however everything took a very long time, just about all our food made it to the table room temperature to cold. The fish fry which my wife had as well as the fried onions were extremely bland it tasted as though there was no seasoning in the batter whatsoever. My cheeseburger was okay, but for $20 I have had much better. In total the bill was over $100 for pub food and the entire experience was overwhelmingly disappointing. I do not recommend this place.

We came here with my kids, MIL, and my parents on a Saturday evening after a dance recital to celebrate. We sat outside. Slow is an understatement. It took 1.5 hours for us to get our food which was okay pub food. I had to ask waitress what was the status of food since we had been waiting for an hour (only thing which prompted her to check on it). When the food came, it was cold and looked like it had been sitting out. My kids didn’t even get the ice cream (which came with kids’ meals) because we didn’t feel like waiting another hour. I discretely spoke with the manager who responded he would take my concerns into consideration. They took off a couple of drinks and an appetizer. Still cost over $100 and not worth it. Super underwhelming. I wouldn’t recommend. Will not be returning.

Support your neighbors. Many times I’ve seen the wait staff rotate with people I’ve recognized from high school or seen waitstaff that are obviously working in town before the school year ends to make some money. Always happy to throw them some money and glad to see Hackneys giving them some work. Oh, foods good too. Always has been.

This is a staple restaurant on the North Shore, with the Hackneyburger being utterly delicious and always perfectly prepared to order with some of the best fries and service in a really warm and comforting environment. I first went when I was a child and have continually enjoyed coming here. Of course they offer a great Rueben sandwich and an array of other offerings, and seating outside on the patio when it's warm out is always a treat.

Very popular local supper club and bar, great ambience, good food. When you can get it, that is. Made a reservation for Easter Sunday, also my birthday. Got there with my party, and sign on the door said CLOSED. Sunday? EASTER? Went back today just for dinner. No bartender. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? A bar with no bartender? So I waited for one of the servers to come by. After ten minutes of being ignored, I left.
