Starbucks

I have very fond memories of this Starbucks from my college days. This location shares a building with Barnes and Noble and there are even tables for Starbucks inside the bookstore. This makes this place ideal for studying or writing papers. My coffee/espresso fueled thesis was written within these four walls and I bet a lot of students/alumni (Go Pioneers!) can say the same thing.

I love this coffee shop because of it late hours, and friendly staff. They usually greet me upon entering and deliver orders promptly. The only thing that doesn’t strike me well, is their lobby is usually dirty. Tables, floor condiment area, bathrooms etc. I’ve had to ask a handful of times to wipe off tables, which really doesn’t bother me. However, the staff typically grabs dry napkins and wipes the crumbs all over the floor under my table, as if to make a point that I could have done it myself. It’s clear the staff doesn’t really care about the cleanliness of their store.

The lady who took my order was clueless. I asked her to load my card before I paid, so I could earn my stars. First, she ran my card (which had an insufficient balance) and wiped out the $ I had. Then she voided the payment and took my cash to pay for the entire order, as cash. No... I wanted the cash loaded FIRST. She handed me change and told me she didn't use my card for the payment. That's NOT what I asked for! So then I asked her why my card now has a $0 balance and she said it was refunded. Nope. Still $0 balance. Then she tried to rush me off because there were people behind me. I hate to be THAT person, but I want to know where my money went and why it appears that I spent $9 on 2 bread items! I mean... Starbucks is expensive. But that's ridiculous! She was rude, incompetent and didn't seen to have a functional grasp of the English language. Come on! At least my order was correct. I will be calling the 800 number to see where my money went. This is unacceptable!

The girl cashier was fast and accommodating but the male barista was otherwise. He needs a hat or a hair tie because he touched his hair at least 10 times between me ordering and receiving my drinks. He also thinks it’s social hour and was chatting it up with his friends instead of pulling shots while the line kept growing.
