Gen Korean Bbq House

I visited this location two weeks ago and I could not believe the level of smoke in the building. I had been here once before, so I could tell this time that there was clearly something wrong with the ventilation system. The entire restaurant was filled with smoke, and it looked like the only ventilation was a fan on the ground in the doorway. By the time we finished eating my entire party's throats were sore and eyes were burning. I can't imagine what a difficult time the staff were having working in those conditions.

Came 45 minutes before closing time, just to be turned away. Unfortunate because I called 5+ times before heading over with no answer. 4 people were staffed at the front desk when we arrived. Train staff to answer phones or at least change your closing time to the 10 instead of 11. For previous experiences, there are MUCH better Korean BBQ options in the area, this one was just the closest by at the time. I strongly recommend AYCE GOGI in Van Nuys.

I'll make this quick and simple as we all gotta get them briskets ASAP. 🐷 There's a public parking. Free for the first 90mins. ✅ Usually crowded 👀 If you're by yourself, getting a seat should be easy. ✅ If you're in a group, buckle up for the waiting game. Also, they won't let y'all in unless EVERYONE is present. 👀 You see the tables and chairs outside? You can kill time there while waiting for your group to be called. ✅ Food is good ✅ it all makes the waiting worth it. Enjoy.

Waited for an hour to get a table from 3:20 pm to 4:20 pm. The place was almost empty with maybe at most 1/3 of the tables occupied since they just opened the restaurant at 3pm. And for some reason we waited an hour which is very disappointing. And compared to other Gen places, you have to ask for everything! Even those traditional small Korean salad plates and BBQ dipping sauce you would get normally from other Gen BBQ places while the cost is above average from other Gen places.. This is the worst Gen BBQ place I have been to...
