Food is pretty good. I had the crispy rice spicy tuna appetizer and it was decent. The crispy rice part was chewy rather than crispy. Like it was sitting on the counter for awhile waiting for the server to bring it to our table.
The BSC scallop sushi was also ok.

Katsuya has a great brand, and the Glendale location is no exception. Prime location overlooking the front lawn and golden naked dude. The service is always up to par. Discovered a new favorite cut roll. The salmon lemon roll. 🍋 perfectly tangy. Rock shrimp crunch roll gets special mention. The hand brewed miso soup gets the ball rolling. Being right of the main strip of the Americana, awesome spot to drop in and get some consistently good sushi 🍣!

Food was good, but the service was not great. We were told the wait time was 45 minutes. An hour later we went back to check on our table and were told it would be another 15 minutes. We went back after 20 more minutes to tell them to forget it and they said our table was ready. After getting our order taken the food took a very long time to come out to us (ended up eating a granola bar I had in my bag) when we did get the food, it was very good tho!

The food is fullof taste and very pleasantt to the palate. The presentation is appealing and inductive for diners to order more. Perfect food for sharing!! I did not give a fifth star due to poor service and attitude. When that improves, Katsuya will be a must place for all occasions. My dish was theirversion of fried rice with shrimp and it was fantastic. I would order certainlyorder it again.

Zero wait being seated, I think food is fairly priced. Our server was nice and attentive! Spicy tuna roll and the rock shrimp tempura were delicious! Will definitely be back again!

So we ordered take out at the bar and the bartender was great. The prices are more expensive than the izakaya on 3rd by Katsuya. We ordered 2 orders of the baked crab roll, 3 orders of sushi, and a California roll, and 2 iced teas. This was $83 before tip. The baked crab rolls are not only more expensige, they’re smaller, and there was almost no “signature sauce.” They were also cold when we got them and we literally ate them within 2 min of getting our order. The nigiri were also very small and the rice was hard and stale. The California roll was also so dry. Everything was so bad. This is not the caliber I’d expect from Katsuya as I’ve been to many locations and it’s never been this expensive or this bad. In comparison I ordered 64 pieces of sushi from another location including the baked crab roll and it was $185 before tip.

Just recently went there today. It was a good experience. Our server Heidi was awesome. Did a great job with recommendation and everything. Our food was great. But the highlight of the show was the poached Asian pear desert. Holly smokes! Talking about amazing flavors for a desert that stands to a dish... sheeshs... I took a star a way for 2 reasons. That menu is expansive. It almost felt like cheesecake factory. The second is the wait time. Wait time was awkward for each food because there are 3 separate kitchens?! You don't expect that with a restaurant of that price point. I hope they could work on that.

I have never committed on any restaurants before and I decided to give comments to this place.
It’s so awfully good. Last time I came here to celebrate my anniversary with bf, and I ordered this short rib. After that I have been trying to lose weight and every time when I’m hungry, I think of the short rib. It’s so damn good. Waiters are nice. I don’t know how those people who gave 1star thought. It’s a nice place highly recommend it. Just a bit expensive but I guess it’s worth it.
