Our favorite Phoenix-area Mexican bakery, La Purisma, is located near historic Downtown Glendale. While we don't know the name of everything we purchased during our most recent trip there, everything was excellent. Plus we enjoy ordering - "I'll have one of these and two of 'dem!" Great prices. Nice people! We will continue to make La Purisma a favorite Glendale stop

Authentic Pan Dulce one of the best bakery in Arizona making Mexican bread. A must visit if you want quality bread and special Pan de Muerto made for Dia de Los Muertos. So much options to choose from made daily.

The bread pastry’s are the best! I can’t think of one that that will let you down. They are amazing! The burritos are delicious, try the green chili! I believe they also have tamales and menudo on certain days, I haven’t tried them yet but I look forward to it. This visit was during the week and the atmosphere and line was great, hardly no wait. If you come here on the weekend, good luck! The line will likely go around the shop into the parking lot! It is crazy!

They have the best flour tortillas in town! They make them fresh all day it seems! They’re red Chile burritos are delicious too! And on random days of the month sometimes they give you a discount! It’s surprise you never know! Also all the girls are so nice and helpful!

From the first thing in the morning until closing , everything is fresh. Even though it is a Spanish bakery, don't let that scare you. They will help you and there won't be a problem. Dozens of breads, cakes, cookies, pastries... I'm from Chicago and they have some spectacular bakeries. La Purisma is now tied for 1st on my list. It is by far the best west of the Mississippi. There is usually a line....sometimes up to 50 people or more, especially on the weekends. The women work very hard to get the line moving. Honest review from white male who does not speak Spanish.

I heard about this place. It is definitely a must try. There’s usually a line, but that’s ok because there’s too much to choose from. While you wait your turn, it’s time to make some tough decisions: a highly addictive molasses-flavored cochinitos, the giant pink cookies shaped like pigs, or an apple dipped in salty sweet chocolate chamoy sauce? How about some soft, freshly made tortillas, or a dozen green and red chile tamales made with pork, cheese, roasted red pepper, and corn? Not to mention burritos also. The panderia also has a wide selection of pan dulce, plain but delicious sweet buns that are perfect to enjoy with a cup of coffee in the morning... I have to tell you. I LOVE FOOD, you need to buy some tamales, take them home and grille them. They come out with crunch...fire

A must every trip to Phoenix. It’s located in one of my favorite areas Glendale ❤️ you can’t find any bakery better then them. I was born and raised on this Mexico born gem. Our favorites are the empanadas (buttery flaky bread) with the best fillings (piña/guava). Not pie filling, real fruit. The second favorites are conchas and cochinitos. The aroma will guide you through beautiful memories of past travels to Mexico. Pace your self and come back often!

If you have a craving for authentic Mexican bread, flour tortillas, gelatins or plain sweet tooth for desert you have come here. There’s all kinds of deserts & fill your palette for any cravings. My to go to is their flour tortillas. They taste just like mom’s home made ones. I was made aware they also sell burritos & tamales. Staff is friendly & will get you in & out smoothly. Although there seems to be a long line every time I go in, the lines run fairly quickly. Prepare to pay with cash so you don’t get the small extra fee for paying with credit card/debit card or the system is down, BUT besides this, I highly recommend La Purisima Bakery.

Authentic pan dulce - conchas and marranitos are my go to. Delicious when they are so fresh. 👊🏼👊🏼 Family owned and operated with two locations- providing an assortment of pan dulce, tamales, burritos, tortillas, masa, menudo and cakes to order for special occasions.

The green Chile burrito is fantastic and the tamales are the best I've ever tasted since my grandma's. The pastries are very tasty and the ladies are always so nice. I'll definitely be back!
