We ate here for the first time on NYE. The menu choices were amazing. The steak gorgonzola was melt in your mouth delicious. Our party of six was not disappointed and our server Alex did a great job of taking care of us. We will definitely return. Thanks for a great New Year’s Eve dinner.
First off let me start by saying how beautifully redesigned the dining area is, the addition of the barnwood looks amazing!
The staff was very helpful and our waitress was very knowledgeable when asking for recomondations. We ordered the friday special fish fry and were not disappointed.
They were having their grand opening and our table also won several appetizers Tavern nachos, flatbread pizza, and pot roast sliders. Everything was delicious! Also the owners were there to meet and greet their guests, very personable couple! Casual Top notch dining! You will not be disappointed!
It's been about four years since we've been here, and it looks like they've remodeled to some degree, but it was a pretty cool place when we last went. They had a Margarita Flight on the menu that was fantastic, and their craft beer list was very good. I enjoyed the bar; it had a warm 1970's vibe. The main dining room view over the lake is wonderful, too.
I just celebrated my birthday here today and it was such an incredible experience. Julia our server was so attentive and really went the extra mile for us. Also, the chef, Joshua, is so incredibly talented. So thankful for this magical experience and I can’t wait to come back. 💗
We took a quick trip to Escanaba and stayed at the Terrace Hotel. We had dinner and drinks. Best martini ever. Food was amazing. Wait staff was friendly and so efficient. Definitely recommend. Can not wait to go back.
Award winning dishes with an extensive diverse menu! As well, our server Julia was attentive and knowledgeable. Butter and bread flight as well as the crispy chili tofu were favourites of our family. Definitely going to be one of those places we recommend if someone’s passing through the area!

Stopped by again on our way home from our trip and had again very excellent service and mouth watering food. Was much busier today with many larger tables, this didn’t effect our experience at all. Quick service and personable wait staff- team is very clearly well managed. Even has a cute spread on a table about the wait staff that is graduating this June from school.
So sad we we live so far from here! Keep it up freshwater team!
We look forward to a delicious meal at Freshwater every time we visit town, which is a few times a year.
This time, we dined for our anniversary, signed up for the rewards program then to enjoy a complimentary dessert, and came back just a handful of days later for my birthday.
Both times were superb.
The cocktails from the attached bar are pricy but tasty.

Great food and service came in while on vacation, so good, we had to come back a second night. Gabby was our server, did an excellent job, best service we have had on this trip.
Great food, wonderful atmosphere. Very diverse menu. Well reviewed and recommended. Bar service lacking despite having 3 bartenders, enough said. Enjoy the dinning room service, food and atmosphere. I recommend and will return.
Great food: I had the red curry with shrimp and scallops. I split it with my wife. There is a small surcharge for splitting but well worth it. Cocktails were outstanding. Our server was Jenna and she did a great job.
The chefs in the kitchen at Freshwater are on another level! They’re hard work and skill does not go unnoticed. Amazing food and atmosphere, I feel like it’s better and better each time I come. Never disappointed, a great spot for a quick drink and appetizer, or full dinner with a group. One of the best restaurants in the U.P.
