Old Mexico

We went to old Mexico restaurant in Geneva AL at approximately 5:30pm . Prefect time to get a meal in before the place filled up. Ordered: 2 sweet tea , enchilada supreme platter, taco salad, and a guacamole salad appetizer, all tables get complimentary chips and salsa. (See attached menu for description and prices). Tea was good , I am a sweet tea addict and if you don't clean your urns daily I can tell and will make a point of mentioning it to the manager. The chips and salsa were promptly delivered and no complaints except I am going to want a enough salsa to pour on top of the enchilada and in guacamole salad, had to pay extra but got what I like. The enchiladas were good+ , she rates the taco salad as " it was good" the surprise of the meal was the guacamole salad. With some salsa for more heat for mine I darn sure enjoyed this appetizer, excellent!! Finally the staff was pleasant and accommodating to my special needs. It all ran me $32 and 5 bucks for tip , 15% tip ,they earned it. Definitely eat here again when visiting the quiet, beautiful town of Geneva.

The service was pretty good, and the food arrived quickly. I had a chicken Taco, which was very good; however, I wasn't a fan of the beef tacos. I think the texture of the beef was a bit unusual, not bad, just different. On the other hand, their salsa was exceptionally good, as were their nachos, which were freshly made and served warm. My husband and I love this place, especially their carne Asad and chimichangas. I would very much recommend this as a place to take the family as their prices are very reasonable as well.

We had a truly horrible experience, so we walked out and went to another restaurant. At first, I ordered a frozen margarita. The waitress brought it out to me on the rocks, so I sent it back. No big deal, it was a simple mistake. But she brings it back to me in liquid form. No ice, not frozen at all. I apologize to the waitress, and we tell her it’s just liquid. She talks back to us with an attitude and says, “it is frozen!” and won’t take it back to fix it. Their salsa tasted like watered down marinara sauce too. We wait, I refuse to drink my drink, we still haven’t gotten our food; so we just left.
