**lactose intolerance ((cheating)) review** Went here for a bite after a long day of home remodeling. I am lactose intolerant and this place is one of my favorite spots prior to me developing intolerance. So after so much work that day I needed a treat and I wasn't going to let my intolerance stop me from getting a reward from a day of work. Taking a pill or two makes eating lactose tolerable for me. We ordered the smoked poutine as a starter. It comes with cheese curds, fries, and smoked pulled pork. It's amazingly savory and salty. We all really loved it. I took a pill before eating this and picked out the cheese. For my meal I got my favorite Nashville hot chicken. It was amazing. The chicken breading, sauce, and bread all have dairy in the mix. I took a second pill before eating this. This Nashville hot chicken is amazing. This is early one of my favorite sandwiches in all of the Fox River area. It tastes tangy, sweet, smokey, it has a kick, it's great. I also had one seasonal beer. The place has been remodeled since I've been there last and I was amazed by how nice it looked. They've done a great job. The dramatic portrait of Alfred Nobel in the front is amazing. In all the food was great and so was the decor. The place was packed, for good reason, and my stomach felt fine. Everyone is different when it comes to lactose intolerance so take caution if you are. For me, I was okay with 2 lactase pills.

Glen Ellyn was just shook by Nobel house. Awesome spot with really good food. Staff is on point, friendly and attentive. Beer selection is awesome. Lots of local crafts on tap.

Food that comes out fast, not fast food. Food was 5 star all the way. Shrimp tacos, 3 of 'em, were delicious. Like pork? Try the hog melt. Pulled pork, ham, and bacon all perfectly prepared and presented on a crisp toasted bread. A bit loud due to the industrial bare ceiling and hardwood floors. Nice decor and service was superb.

Great atmosphere, good food at high end prices that get worse when overcharged. Chopped salad is $17 but was charged $23. Didn’t realize until we got home, Unacceptable. At these prices, we’ll stay with Cooper Hawk.

Great atmosphere great food and even greater beer. The service was terrific and the street view with the front windows being wide open was really nice. The menu selection was pretty extensive and picking something was a challenge but everything seemed very good and the pork sandwich that I ordered was delectable. Overall really nice place

Editing months later to say we've been back many times and it's become our favorite restaurant. Everything is perfect and delicious! Came for brunch for the first time today. Do yourself a favor and get the chicken and biscuits. Oh my goodness!!!! So good!! This place was a pleasant surprise! Service was great, food was great, atmosphere was great! Husband got the giant platter of all the meats, and I had the hog sandwich. We also had a side of brussel sprouts. The portions are huge and everything was delicious! We really enjoyed and will be back soon!

Unfortunately my girlfriend got very sick on the oysters at this location. We contacted the restaurant, nobody called us back. We messaged them on FB, they read the message and didn't respond. After having many good meals at Nobel, we will no longer be dining there. Of course, eating raw oysters can be hazardous but the complete disregard for our well being after getting very sick is unacceptable.
