The Black Pearl Oyster Bar - Galveston - Photo album

The place was not busy for lunch. The raw oysters were fresh, the shrimp po boy with the fried okra was amazing. The gator bites were good, some were chewy but overall not bad. The seafood gumbo needed a little more seasoning but it was filling. Our server was very attentive and our needs were met a
Edit: their online prices do not reflect actual prices. Maybe an oversight, but it needs to be corrected. Ordered raw oysters, fried mushrooms, fries, gator bites, and a cup of red beans and rice. The oysters were good. The mushrooms were big and a big portion. They were good but needed a bit of se
A friend and I went to grab some lunch here after being at the beach for 3 hours. I will have to say it was not disappointing at all. The food and service was amazing. When the food came out the serving sizes were huge. My favorite were the boudin ball and the fried mushrooms. But everything was del
In town on Summer vacation. A friend that is local to Galveston recommended this place. Small, quaint place. Super fast service. The food was awesome to say the least. We had some oysters on the half shell, shared a cup (bowl) of seafood gumbo, and then had our main courses. The wife had the crawfis
I love the food. My wife just came in to ask some questions but we saw how the food looked and we decided to stay. The waitress (sorry I forgot her name)was amazing with an awesome recommendation and knowing the plates and ingredients, she took care of our food restrictions and at the same time recom
Some of the BEST oysters in Galveston! The founder is delicious too! The service is always phenomenal, this time we surpluses our daughter for her birthday, they made her a virgin fruity cocktail, and did cake with a candle. Worth the trip!
We were recommended by Black Pearl from a local who works at a comic book shop. She was amazing at her recommendations. So happy we came here. The oyster poboy was amazingly delicious and plentiful. I recommend it with the Cole slaw as you can add it on your sandwich. Another person in our party got
The service was great. Very friendly and very helpful. One of my kids had not had a lot of seafood and our wait-staff talked them through and made a very good suggestion. The oysters were superb! The seafood gumbo was good, and the chicken sandwich was the size of my daughters head. The atmosphere (
The best shrimp poboy. Great fried okra and husband says onion rings are fantastic. More than we could eat.
After an evening at a local spa we walked down market st. looking for a bite and ran into this place. I glanced at the reviews and knew not to pass this up! Just like everyone else says, the oysters were really fresh. The fish tacos were fresh and full of flavor. We got the boudin balls because my w

Good local seafood restaurants in Galveston. Good drinks and great service. JJ was an awesome bartender very attentive to details. About 60 bucks for meal and 2 drinks.
One of the best gumbos in Galveston. Plenty of seafood - shrimp, oysters, crab meat - and okra!
We have visited several times. They do not have a kids menu for whatever reason. I absolutely loved the Shrimp Diablo I choose this time. My husband said the oysters were the freshest he has ever had. He orders oysters regularly from seafood restaurants. We enjoyed our visit (since our kids wer
I was referred to this place by a friend, and it’s solid seafood for the Strand area. We started with a couple drinks which were fine. We got the Oysters 3 Ways. They were all fantastic. We got the fish tacos, which had cod in it. This was surprising as there is so much fresh fish around. Why would
I came here for lunch with my dad today. The oysters on the half shell were super fresh and delicious. The gator bites plate was amazing; one of the juiciest, meatiest gator bites I've had. My dad said his seafood gumbo was excellent. The bread pudding was not only super good, it was big enough for
Food was great, although the menu has changed as it used to have more options. and now as far as seafood it's ALMOST all fried. It's good don't get me wrong but if you want grilled you may have to try somewhere else. Portions sizes are BIG! ALL IN ALL IT WAS GOOD .
Absolutely delicious food. The oysters are SOOO GOOD and fresh! The portions are insane here. I ordered a po boy expecting like 6 shrimp (what I normally get anywhere I go), but I received enough for 2 or 3 sandwiches. Fantastic! Great service as well. Highly recommend!
Dined here with my family the night we stayed at the Tremont house hotel. We were pleasantly surprised - not only was it only a block away from the hotel, but the food was some of the best seafood I’ve ever had in Galveston! Micah, our server, took great care of us. Would 100% come back again.
