Very cute place for a quick bite. Homemade chili, hand-cut fries, homemade potato salad. Potatoes are bought from a local grower. There Chicago hot dog was very well done. Worth to check it out.
This place is great and I wish I lived in the area. We found this place after walking by all the other restaurants and looking for something that was simple. This family friendly place has great fries and hotdogs. The portions were large, employees wonderful and the prices were not out of line. A great find.
I hope they reopen. Incredible fries and the only place for miles that you can get a Chicago style beef. When they ask hot or mild giardiniera and how you want it dipped, you know it's the real deal.
This place was a great stop in the middle of the day in between sight seeing at Galena. The owner prepared our meal with care, almost as if we were stopping in at someone's houses and having a meal in their kitchen. The hot dogs and fries were delicious. They also had homemade potato salad/tomato salad, also prepared as if we were stopping by a friend's house for lunch. To top it off, the owners had local artwork/jewelry that you could purchase.
Overall, a great stop for a delicious lunch, especially given the many expensive alternatives all over the downtown Galena area.
I had a great chili cheese dog and my wife loved her Italian beef, but it was the fries and the friendly service that stood out - not necessarily in that order. If you're in Galena looking for a quick bite, this is the place!

My wife and I live in Galena for a few months each summer and recently tried Pudgy's. Great Chicago hot dog plus wonderful potato salad, fresh fruit cup and SUPER French fries. We will be back for Italian beef sandwich .
This hot dog ls the bestselling hot dog in town. The beef is the bestselling and best tasting beef I have in Galena. The owner puts pride and time in her food. And the final product proves the taste is there. I will return for a good sandwich and fries.
I eat here a lot since I work in the area. I got to say their service is always excellent and they keep the spot clean regularly. Rates are reasonable and they serve large portions.
